Victim of a Moose

Victim of a Moose
He stared up at the large creature in front of him. Why did he decide to walk down this path of the woods? Half of his brain knew better, but the other half overpowered him.
“Go on! It’ll be fun!” he mocked himself. “It’ll be an interesting experience! Just walk on through all the low hanging fog and mist into the obviously haunted forest!”
He pushed himself closer into the tree. Before him was a large creature whose eyes glowed in the moonlight. Its antlers menacing. He could feel the moose’s breath floating onto his face. He was not liking the odds of being run down by a moose.
“Why did you throw the pine cone, Micah?” He growled at himself. “Why? Throwing a pine cone only makes moose chase you!”
The moose stomped its foot before it charged at him. Micah rolled out of the way. He panted for breath as he stared at up at the creature. It shook its head. Luckily hitting the bark of the tree gave the moose a headache.
Micah smirked as adrenaline pushed him off his back. He darted down the trail. There had to be a tree with a branch he could jump on and climb. He needed a lower hanging branch.
“Where are all the climbing trees dammit!” he yelled as he skid on his heels to make a sharp turn. He could hear the moose charging forward. He yelped as his ankle gave out from under him. “Damn heel!” He crawled forward. If he could just push himself up that tree.
The moose was too fast however. It ran over him. Micah let out a small gasp of air as he felt his ribs break. The moose turned around and stomped on Micah until he was sure he was dead. When it was done, the moose turned up its head with sass.
“That’ll teach that human to throw pine cones down hills at me.” The moose trotted away.
