Rouge jumped for joy as she picked up the ringing cell phone. "Hello Shadow!" She smiled as she tapped Knuckles in the shoulder to get his attention.
Shadow didn't call often. Especially not unprovoked. Amy was normally the one calling you catch up. "To what go I owe the pleasure?" Rouge missed. Shadow always got to the point.
Shadow hummed a bit. Rouge arched a brow, Shadow normally didn't show his nervousness. "I wanted to know if you'd and Knuckles wanted to come have lunch at our place."
Rouge liked at Knuckles who nodded. "We're down. But normally Amy invites us over. Is she alright?"
"Rose is well." Shake said softly in a way that Rouge and Knuckles could hear his love for her. "I told her I wanted to invite you, Knuckles, and Omega over."
Rouge nodded. "Alright. When is lunch?"
"Can you make this Saturday work?"
Rouge hummed as she checked her calendar. "A bit short notice but we can make it."
"Great. See you Saturday." Shadow hung up the phone without saying bye.
Rouge sighed. Some habits never change.
"Shall we bring a gift?" Knuckles missed.
"Why?" Rouge questioned her husband.
Knuckles liked at her with a look that said, "isn't it obvious?" When her eyes still had questions. Knuckles sighed, "Shadow called and did the inviting. And he's inviting you and Omega. I got an invite because we're married. Shadow is closest to you and Omega. So it has to be a mile stone. They're engaged or something."
Rouge thought for a moment. "You're right!" She bounced up to find a gift.
