Meeting

Theme: Sonic Underground AU
She turned to glance at him. She moved her quills to hide her face, but she could see him through them. The green hedgehog stood in awe of the place. The walls seemed to be made of crystal. The grass was luscious greens with little big planet’s signature flowers everywhere. She was amazed he hadn’t noticed her yet, but if she moved, he would. That was the trouble with sitting by the pond. One moment and the water would splash.
His brown eyes focused on her. He couldn’t see her very well, but he could tell she was pink. He walked over to her. She hoped that if she stayed completely still he would take her for a statue and leave. He stood close to the edge of the pond.
“Yo!” he gave a small wave, “Are you okay? You haven’t moved since I came in here.”
She didn’t respond. “Stay a statue,” she told herself.
He sighed as he climbed up on the rock she was perched on. He sat a few inches away with his legs crossed. “I’m Manic. What’s your name?” He could tell she was real. The wind was softly moving her pink quills. He could see her emerald green eyes straining to stay open. “You’re not a statue you know.” He poked her in the middle of her forehead. “I’m not a dumb badnik. So talk or move or something.” He continued poking her in the forehead.
She leaned away from him. The poking was annoying and he was beginning to add more force behind it as if he were trying to tip her over.
“There we go!” He beamed a huge smile at her. “So I’ve already told you my name, what’s yours?”
She stood up and dusted her clothes off. She was wearing long silk robes with intricate designs sown in. She was stiff from playing statue. She picked up her cards and turned to face him fully.
Manic smiled plainly at her. Waiting for an answer. He took note of how small she was. She couldn’t have been more then 9 at least. She stared at him intently as she hesitantly sat back down, mimicking his posture. They entered a staring contest. Manic burst into laughter. She arched an eyebrow at him. “Sorry. Sorry. Sorry,” his body shook with laughter as he clutched his stomach, “But I really suck at staring contests.”
He looked up at her with a big smile and she smiled. She had been fighting the urge to laugh this whole time. She soon broke out in fits of giggles. Manic smiled at this as he sat up and tried to regain his composure. He was failing miserably.
“So you can make sound. I was afraid you were mute for a moment there. I don’t know sign language and I didn’t bring any paper with me here.” He joked.
She smiled as she nodded as she lifted her legs close to her body and wrapped her arms around them. She looked around the area they sat in. It was an inner part of Little Big Planet. One of its secret rooms that few could ever find. “How did you get here?”
“I believe I asked for your name first.” Manic pouted. “Or do cute girls like you think that boys like me are undeserving of knowing what to call you?”
Her face turned red. Cute? Did he really just say that? She must have misheard him. She looked around the area. He told her not talk to anyone. He was always so overprotective, it drove her up the wall sometimes. It’s why she ran away here. She knew it wouldn’t be long before he arrived to take her back home. But surely it couldn’t hurt to tell Manic her name. He did seem nice after all. “Amy,” she spoke softly.
Manic smiled. He noticed her blush and found it cute. She was just shy. “Well it’s very nice to meet you Amy!” He extended his hand to her.
