time travel team sonic

Jan 12 2023 time travel team sonic

"Ugh…" Sonic groaned, "What truck hit me." The room he was in felt familiar but off. Tails and Knuckles were just beginning to wake up in beds next to him. "Are your heads pounding too?" He asked.

"Talk quieter or I'll pound you harder." Knuckles held his head in his hands.

Tails simply responded with a thumbs up.

The door opened and a black hedgehog came in with 3 Iv bags in his arms. He paused as he started at the three more awake mobians.

"Shadow!" Sonic waved. "Sup? Where are we?"

The hedgehog sighed. "I'm not him." He flicked on the light. His quills were messy and he didn't have the same stripes as Shadow. The stripes weren't even the same red hue. His eyes a more orangish hue. "You guys messed with a time some and traveled through time." He went about changing the ivs keeping his voice soft and low. "I'm Gerald."

"You look a lot like Shadow," Sonic stated.

Gerald smiled, "He is my dad. That's how we knew you three got into 'more of faker's shenanigans." Gerald mimicked Shadow's voice.

Sonic laughed, "You're very good at that."

"Rouge owes me 25 rings." Knuckles stated amused.

Gerald nodded as he checked Tails's health. "You're lucky you don't have a concussion."

Tails gave a soft nod. "How do we get back to our time?"

"Silver is in this time." Gerald explained. "We gave him a call. He'll be over in a few hours. Mom went to the store. Charles and I are taking care of you guys till mom gets back to cook a meal."

"Who's Charles and where's Shadow?" Sonic asked.

"Charles is my younger brother. Dad got called away for some work." Gerald answered after checking Sonic and Knuckles for concussions. "Do you guys want to come down for snacks?"

The house was homely. Knuckles arched a brow at the play place in the corner of the living room.

"Aren't you too big for that?" Knuckles pointed at the play place.

"Oh, we have a baby brother." A black hedgehog with his quills styled to go forward stated as he came out of the kitchen. "Good morning, I'm Charles!" His green eyes sparkled as he bounced on his heels. "The cookies are almost done."

Sonic couldn't help but laugh, "And Shadow tries to pretend he doesn't like kids."

"I'm getting 25 rings for each kids he has from Rouge." Knuckles did the math. "So that's 75 rings I'm getting… eventually."

Gerald and Charles laughed as they led the trio to the kitchen.

"So what do you guys like to do?" Tails made small talk as he ate a cookie.

"Charles draws comics and his bugging dad and mom about wanting pet chickens." Gerald mused.

"Gerald makes books. Like pop up ones. He's also a night owl, hence the pj look." Charles handed him a cup of hot tea.

"I prefer to be called low energy." Gerald took a sip. The group engaged in small talk until the front door opened.

"I'm home," Amy came in holding a car seat with a baby in one hand and a bag of groceries in the other.

Gerald quickly snagged the car seat from her, talking to the baby inside.

"Are you guys okay?" Amy sighed as she watched Gerald walk into the living room.

"Sup Amy!" Sonic waved, "What brings you by?"

Amy rolled her eyes. "I live here." She turned to the living room, "There are still groceries in the car."

"Yes mom." Gerald pouted as he carried the baby outside.

Amy shook her head. "When do you think your brother will stop carrying him every chance he can?" She asked Charles, who was already putting items away.

"When Markie starts complaining about not wanting to be carried anymore." Charles stated. He thought for a moment. "I am guessing around 10 to 15."

Kids age chart: Gerald (17)/ 3yr older than Alexander 14yrs/ 1yr older than Charles 13yr/ 9 yes older than Catherine 4yr/ 3 yrs older than Markus 1yr.

Amy sighed. She turned to the trio with a smile. "So aside from my oldest spoiling his siblings. Silver should be on his way to get you guys back to your time in a few. So what happened?"

"We found the time stone while exploring some cool ruins." Sonic explained. "Congratulations on the kids. They've been really nice."

Amy smiled. "Thank you. It's been a struggle to keep Shadow from spoiling them rotten. And Gerald is doing the same."

"Big bros jobs are to torment and spoil." Gerald defended as he brought in the rest of the groceries. The bundled baby giggling happily.

"And where is the torment part of that?" Knuckles smirked at the teen.

"Look at him!" Gerald moved the baby to have them. The baby was a pair red with green eyes. They were wearing a bear onsies with a hood. "Who would torment such a cute kid?"

The three laughed.

"Only someone heartless would torment a baby." Tails waved at the baby.

Gerald introduce the baby, Markus, to the trio as Amy began making lunch. The boys moved to the living room. Charles set up alphabet blocks into small words like cat and bat.

"Teaching the baby words already?" Sonic tilted his head.

"His crawling and walking will be delayed due to Gerald holding him every chance he can get." Charles teased.

"He's cuddly." Gerald bounced Markus in his lap.

The door opened and Silver and a pink hedgehog child walked in.

"That's another one?" Tails' eyes widened as the kids paused and stared at the trio.

The pink kid with green eyes was the spitting image of Amy. They were holding some rag in their hands very carefully. They crabbed walked to the side, staring like a deer in headlights.

Silver laughed. He was a lot older then the trio had ever seen him. "She's also their only daughter." Silver closed the door and turned to the girl. "Catherine, this is Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. I have to take them back to their time."

Catherine nodded. She held up her foot to Silver, looking him in the eyes with intent.

Silver chuckled as he bent down. "Yes. Yes your majesty. I shall put your shoes away."

The girl nodded as Silver carefully took off her shoes.

"So, she inherited all of Shadow's quiet." Knuckles mused.

"Pretty much," Charles agreed. "Did you have a good time hanging out with Silver today?"

"Affirmative!" She nodded as she walked up to Charles. "I got you a gift." She gestured to the item in her hands.

"Oh really?" Charles leaned down to her eye level. "Thank you. Can I see it?"

She nodded, "Be gentle."

"I promise I will." Charles smiled as he carefully removed the top rag of the items she was holding. A baby chick chirped. Charles let it a near silent squeal. "I love them. Thank you!"

Catherine beamed with pride. "I found it during the mission!"

"What did you do on your mission?" Tails asked.

"We cleaned up a farm and gathered lost animals." Catherine replied happily. "Silver's boyfriend showed me a cool trick. And Mr Farmer gave me a chick as payment for helping."

"I brought you along because you wanted to see the goats." Silver sighed.

"You have a boyfriend? Does he time travel too?" Sonic mused.

"Tell the drama llama nothing," Silver jokingly ordered.

"Why do I hear a chicken in my house?" Amy called from the kitchen.

"I got Charles a baby chicken.' Catherine announced proudly as she raced to the kitchen.

"Sweetie…" Amy began.

"You can't send it back. It's rude to return gifts." Catherine countered.

"Where is the chick going to sleep?" Amy tried to reason.

"In brother's room until we make it a chicken house." Catherine stated. "I'll help."

"Sweetie, you're four." Amy stated.

"Yes. And?"

Amy sighed. "Who did I anger in a past life to have 5 stubborn children?"

"While your mom is busy soul searching. Where's the time stone they brought with them?" Silver asked the teens.

Charles grabbed a container off the bookshelf. "Have a safe trip." He turned to Sonic with a big smile. "Try not to meddle in Silver's love life too much."

"I would prefer no meddling." Silver rolled his eyes. He took the time stone out of the container. "Let's get you back to your time." Silver led them to the backyard and made them hold hands so they wouldn't get lost during the chaos control. They reappeared in front of Uncle Chuck's place. "You know how to get home from here?" The three nodded. "Good. See you later." With that, Silver teleported back.

Dinner at Maria’s

 12/27/2022 Dinner at Maria’s

"The garden is looking great!" Maria complimented her brother as she walked into the yard. Shadow gave her a simple nod. The shadow Chao chirped happily as it waved a tiny rake.

"Be careful," Shadow gave a soft showing to his Chao.

Maria giggled. "How have you two been?"

"Work's been tiring. Now I'm on vacay." Shake shrugged. "And it's been peaceful." He carefully put the gardening tools away. "How have you and Manic been?"

Maria smiled as she picked up the Chao. "We climbed a really nice mountain. Went to an amusement park." Shadow nodded as he stood up. Maria gave him a hug. "Is Amy home?" She looked at Amy's house. It was a bright sunny day, if Amy want helping Shadow with the garden, she could be anywhere.

"Rose is really tired. Jet lag." Shadow stated.

"We wanted to have dinner with you two." Maria beamed. "Manic and I brought you guys some gifts."

Shadow nodded. "I'll wake up Rose and we'll come over once she's ready."

Maria pouted, "Shouldn't we let her sleep?"

"No, she'll be upset if she misses you two before you run off on another adventure." Shadow stated as he grabbed his Chao from Maria.

Maria smiled, "I'll see you two in a bit!"

Shadow carefully knocked on the door before entering. Amy was half slumped off the bed, a bucket of vomit on the floor. Shadow rubbed her back as he put her on the bed.

Amy groaned as she opened her eyes. Shadow handed her the glass water. She gulped it down. "Thank you Shadow." Amy whispered. She felt so tired.

Shadow rubbed her shoulder. "Maria and Manic are back. They want to have dinner together."

Amy smiled. "I'll take a shower and get dressed."

"You feeling any better?" Shake looked at her with concern.

Amy gave a soft nod. "My stomach still doesn't like me. But I don't feel as tired."

Shadow nodded. "Oh, I lied and told Maria you have jet lag." Shadow picked up the bucket to clean it.

Amy gave an exaggerated gasp. "You lied to your sister?"

Shadow rolled his eyes at her teasing. "I'll apologize later. Just not today."

Shadow, Amy, and the Shadow Chao came over to the living room of Maria and Manic's home being decorated with balloons.

"Is it their anniversary and I forgot about it?" Shadow leaned in to whisper to Amy. "Am I supposed to remember when it is?"

Amy giggled. "No to both."

"We felt like decorating." Maria explained as she left them to the living room. There were several wrapped gifts on the coffee table.

"You guys didn't have to wrap the gifts," Amy sat on the couch, keeping the excited Chao in her lap.

"It's funner this way." Manic came into the living room with a tray with teacups on it.

Shadow shook his head. Maria and Manic were both hyper, explorative, and sentimental people.

Manic tossed a gift into Shadow's lap. "Let's just have a good time."

Shadow shrugged as he held the gift to his Chao to open. The Chao happily unwrapped the gift, plucking the bow and putting it on their head. The Chao held up the key chain with a random pun on it. Shadow smiled as he took the key chain from the Chao. "Thank you."

Maria handed them more gifts as Manic periodically checked the dinner in the oven. The gifts were simple trinkets. The usual gifts the two normal them.

"Now these are the last three!" Maria beamed as she carefully handed one to each of them. She was bouncing with excitement. Manic also watched with amusement. But had a posture that told Shadow he might be in trouble after it's opened.

"This better not be a glitter bomb." Shadow warned.

"I swear, no glitter." Manic held up his hands.

"Just open it." Maria pouted at him. "All of you at the same time."

Shadow rolled his eyes before opening the gift. He pulled out a mug inscribed with "World's most protective Uncle" on it. He turned to look at the Chao, who happily waved a vest proclaiming "World's cuddly-est cousin". Amy was giggling softly as her cup read, "World's sweetest Aunt."

"So that's what the balloons are for." Shadow mused as he took in the news. "Congratulations." He got up to hug his sister. He turned to Manic. "I'm amazed I haven't heard from faker yet." Sonic wasn't one for keeping secrets.

"That's because you two are the first to know," Manic started. "Sonic and Sonia are blabber mouths. Telling either of them will lead to all of Mobius knowing."

"So we're going to tell them over the phone during their family call." Maria smiled.

"And the balloons will be a nice touch for that." Manic mused.

The Chao chirped to get Shadow's attention. Shadow turned to the Chao, holding out the shirt to him.

"Maria is having a baby, so this shirt says you're a cuddly cousin." Shake explained as he dressed the Chao in the new shirt. The Chao began signing 2 with a question mark on top of it's head.

"Why are they talking about 2?" Maria mused.

"Shadow, I forgot to bring the card over." Amy lied. "Can you bring it?" Shadow nodded as he handed her the Chao before chaos controlling home. He returned a few seconds later. He handed Maria a card.

Maria opened the basic looking card. Inside was a short scribble of "congrats, you're becoming an aunt and uncle!" With a copy of an ultrasound.

Maria bounced in joy as she handed the card to her husband. "Congrats!" She hugged before moving to hug Amy.

manic in danger

 12/21/2022 manic in danger

Manic tapped his fingers on his controller. He felt awkward with the death glare emitting from Shadow. The black hedgehog looked like he was plotting a murder. It didn't help that Sonic was also glaring at him too.

"Oh joy," Manic thought to himself, "I get to be ended by the two fastest things alive."

Manic adjusted himself to pull Amy closer since she was the only thing keeping the two teens from ripping out his throat. Grant it, she was also the reason they were angry with him.

Amy remained oblivious to the danger Manic was in as she curled herself in his lap, wrapped in blankets. Poor thing had a cold. Manic decided to hold her up as she played some games to spend the time.

Now Manic was stuck with Sonic on one side and Shadow on the other. The two insisting on joining in the gaming session the moment they got here. Sonic's reaction of disapproval was odd. He spent forever saying he wasn't interested in Amy romantically. And yet here he was, giving his own twin brother glares and judgement.

Shadow was a hard one to read. Went he showed up at the house with his bro? Manic could only speculate. Manic knew Shadow didn't like most people, but he thought they were neutral with each other.

Manic slid one hand to check Amy's temperature. Amy giggled at the cool touch. "That fever just won't lower," Manic frowned.

Everyone jumped at the audible sound of a growl coming from the other side of the couch. Sonic jumped on the arm of the couch as Manic held Amy closely.

Aleena stood in the door way in shock. Jules held several bags of groceries in his hands.

"Shadow, please don't growl just because you're struggling at video games." Charles lectured from behind his brother.

Shadow's ears twitched as he stopped growling and settled for glaring at the TV.

"How is Amy's fever?" Aleena busied her self to the kitchen, giving a worried look at Shadow.

"Still won't drop," Manic called. "Little dude is lucky it's not rising."

"Manic, girls don't like being called dude." Jules corrected his son.

"I don't mind," Amy spoke with a groggy voice. "Manic called most of us at the orphanage dude."

"You two lived at the same orphanage?" Sonic arched a brow.

"Briefly." Manic answered.

"Manic did most of the cooking. He taught me how to bake cake." Amy smiled. "He's the best big brother."

Manic laughed, "Remember you said that every time I get on your nerves." Manic ruffled her quills as he wrapped her tighter in blankets.

Once Amy had been spoon fed a good enough helping of chicken soup, manic carried her to bed and tucked her in. Amy went to sleep quickly after a quick lullaby. Manic made sure she was comfy before venturing down stairs.

Manic put on a smile as he plopped down on the couch between Sonic and Shadow. "So dudes, what game do you want to play?"

Shadow simply kept his death glare. Sonic's look told Manic that his brother was sizing him up. The blue hedgehog thoughts of, "I don't think you're good enough for Amy," very easy to read.

"Well, if I'm going to die but these two," Manic thought to himself. "I might as well get a few jabs in."

"You know, I figured Knux would be jealous that Amy thought I was the best big bro figure. But geez…. You two are greener than me." Manic joked as he put in a fighting game.

The two sputtering was very amusing to Manic. Jules and Charles sat on the live seat, observing with mild interest.

Manic held up the controller as he pulled the character select screen. "Look, I'm not brawler, so if you dudes want to fight about it, fight me virtually."

Manic smiled as he activated the heroes' competitiveness with the video game.

Shadow doubled check his bag.

 12/5/2022 shadamy

Shadow doubled check his bag. He had everything he needed but it didn’t hurt to double check. Though in his case, it was the 6th time checking.

His chao watched her coworker with amused interest. Shadow being openly nervous was a rarity. It always amused her and it only happened when it concerned one person.

“Shadow, you take this trip every year with Amy.” Rouge noted. “I’m sure you have everything you’ll need and then some.”

“Inquiry,” Omega spoke up. “You are staying at the residence Amy Rose owns, correct?”

“Correct.” Shadow nodded.

“Why not leave some things there so you don’t have to constantly bring them?”

Shadow’s ears turned red as he froze. Rouge chuckled.

“Oh, they are playing house,” She joked. "Leaving a few of your things nice be good for you two. It might be the night to becoming official that you two need."

"It's not like that." Shadow's face was flush as he clenched his first. A knock caught their attention. Shadow turned to give Rouge a glare. "Not a word in front of Rose." He growled before going to answer the door.

Amy greeted Shadow with a bubbly smile. Shadow greeted her with a nod as he let her inside. The dark Shadow Chao chipped happily as it flew over to her.

"Hi Lance," Amy hugged the Chao tightly as she walked into the living room. Her quills hung loosely passed her shoulders. She wore a pair of blue jeans and a baggy loose sweater.

Shadow hated valentines day

 11/28/2022

Shadow hated valentines day. He didn’t understand why everyone had to be lovey dovey on this day. To make it worse, he couldn’t hide in his apartment since Rouge wanted the place for herself and the guardian.

Shadow considered hiding in Rose’s guest room only to remember that she too would be spending the day even more love obsessed. Shadow turned on his heel as he changed his destination. He knocked on the door of the small house.

A pale older blue hedgehog opened the door. He arched a brow at the young man on his porch. “Hello Shadow. What brings you by?”

“Rouge wants the whole apartment to herself.” Shadow stately bluntly.

Chuck smiled as he nodded as he stepped aside. “Well come in.” He waved his hand. “I was just about to start cooking. So I hope you’re hungry.”

Shadow nodded as he looked around the small home. He found it odd that chuck only had two big rooms in this place. His kitchen and his lab in the basement.

“Make yourself comfortable.” Chuck walked into his kitchen. He thumbed through a large old book. He head several different ones on the table.

“You have a lot of cook books.” Shadow noted as he entered the kitchen.

Chuck chuckled. “Amazingly I still have them after everything.” He tapped his hand on at book that looked like it would fall apart any minute. “My mom hand wrote all of these.” He moved his hand to another, “My dad wrote this one.”

“So all of these are hand written?” Shadow found himself interested in the hand written recipe books.

“Not all, but most.” Chuck looked melancholy. “It kind of became a tradition for people to gift me cook books at some point.” He pointed at several of the books. “Antoine’s folks gave me that one. It’s in French so I always mess up somewhere. I got that one from a Prower family member.” He shrugged. “The list goes on and on. You’ll find it boring, but feel free to skim through. I can cook most of it.”

Shadow nodded as he eyed the leather bound book with flowers embossed on it. Chuck was thumbing through the pages with great care. “Where did you get that one?”

Chuck glanced up at Shadow. The ultimate life form wasn’t normally this into other people’s lives. He tapped his finger as he contemplated how to answer the question. Tehre were a couple of reactions that could happen. How to answer the question. There were a couple of reactions that could happen. He actually wondered if he would get an amusing one from the stoic hedgehog. “A woman I briefly dated gave it to me.”

Shadow nodded as he took in the anser. Chuck had obviously took great care of the book. It told Shadow that Chuck probably still harbored feeling for the woman. Chuck was a good man and there had been a war during his time. The break up could have been for many reasons. Shadow felt it rude to pry any further into the lady’s identiy.

Chuck rested his chin in the palm of his hand as he stared at Shadow. “You know most kids your age go, ‘eew. Love gross. Yuck.” He stated in a mocking tone.

“What am I? Four?” Shadow retorted.

Chuck chuckled at the angry response. “No.” he straightened his back as he flipped through the pages. “You’re a boy who doesn’t like anything to do with love.”

“I just don’t want it shoved on me or be the only topic.” Shadow explained.

Chuck nodded at his explanation.

“Besides, you’re up there in age. Presuming you haven’t had any sexual encounters would be illogical.” Shadow stated matter of factly.

Chuck paused as he stared at the ruby eyes. “In the future please refer to sexual encounters as Romantic relationships. It makes me uncomfortahble when people younger than me talk about my non-existant sex life.”

“I’m over 50 years old.” Shadow pointed out.

“No. You slept for 50 years. Sleep doesn’t count. How long were you alive on the Ark before you were put in stasis.”

Shadow thought for a moment. “About 7ish years I think. It took professor and the other scientists a while to figure out how to age me up.”

Chuck nodded. “I bet the human doctors had their hands full with a tinier more emotional you. Especially if they didn’t have much experience with hedgehog quills.”

“I had a mobian doctor at one point. She was there for a bit. Maria asked her tons of questions.” Shadow stated.

Chuck smiled. “That’s good. Questions are a great way to learn.” he paused on a page. “Have you ever had curry?”

Shadow shook his head.

Chuck smiled, “Well let’s introduct you to new food.”

Shadow found himself helping chuck cook. Chuck telling him how each ingredient helped the dish. Shadow understood the basics of cooking, but he had never done so before. Chuck was patient as he instructed the young hedgehog.

The curry wasn’t the best to Chuck, but he wasn’t adding it to a restaurant menu. The flavors were good and that’s all Chuck cared about.

11/28/2022 why 3

 11/28/2022 why 3

Aleena stared at the three sleeping babies. “The doctor said I was only having two kids right?” She asked after a long silence.

Jules nodded as he sat beside his wife. “He did.”

Aleena slowly counted the sleeping children. “Where’d the third one come from?”

Jules simply shrugged. “I guess he hid during all the ultrasounds. So bonus baby.” He smiled as he poked the smallest child’s foot.

“Why is he smaller than the other two?” Aleena frowned. The smallest one was noticeably smaller than the other two.

“I’m not sure, but the doctors said they’re all healthy. No health complications.” He assured her.

Aleena frowned as she turned to her husband. Her face serious. “How do I cuddle all of them at the same time?”

Jules burst into laughter. “In a cuddle pile.” He answered after a moment of laughter.

manic meets maria

 11/22/22 manic meets maria

"Can you teach me?" The blue eyes sparkled in excitement.

Manic felt taken aback. Most people hated that Manic was a thief. He practically got booted out of Knothole for it. But here was a bubbly blond hedgehog asking to learn how to steal. Manic scrunched up his face to try to see a lie in her. "Why?"

The girl giggled as she took a step back. She did have a bad habit of coming on too strong. "Robuttnik is hoarding a lot of food, medical supplies, and materials. If I can learn how to do what you do, I can get stuff we need from him. Like pickpocketing from his lackies for keys and such."

Manic nodded. Robotnik sucked end and made most places suck. She seemed so very eager. "You know people… don't like thieves. Even if you bring them materials they need, they'll… be mean. " He tried to choose nice words.

She deflated as her ears laid flat. She picked at her fingers, thinking it over. She clasped her hands together as she looked up at him with a determined look. "I can handle it. I want to learn!"

Manic couldn't help but laugh. "You're an odd one." She gave a big toothy grin that Manic wouldn't mind seeing again. "Okay, we'll start with the basics and work up to field runs."

She bounced with joy. Happy squeals. She moved forward to hug him before pulling herself back. "Sorry, I hug lots." The have a nervous chuckle. "Oh, I need to repay you. I can cook a bit. I'm very handy so I can fix some broken machines."

Manic held up his hand as he laughed, "I'm good. We'll need to find a safe place to practice though. Since I'm not from here, do you have any suggestions?"

She nodded. "My home is well hidden from Ivo. We can practice there if you don't mind."

Manic shifted on his heels. "Sounds nice but it's bad to be too trusting. People could take advantage of you." He slipped into a protective brother mode.

She tilted her head. "You don't seem like a bad dangerous person to me." She looked up into a nearby tree. "And Rosie would have voiced something if she thought so too "

"Rosie," Manic scanned the tree looking for another person but finding no one.

A giggle behind him made him jump, but turning and seeing no one. Soon a pink hedgehog appeared as she grabbed Manic to steady him. "Sorry," she giggled. Her emerald green eyes were glowing. "I only wanted to play."

"You can turn invisible?" Manic let out in awe. "How?"

The young girl giggled as she let go of his hand and ran to hold onto the blonde hedgehog.

The blonde ruffled the pink one's quills. "Chaos energy. It's in all living things. Some people can access it in amazing ways. Rosie here is one of the natural talents. Turning invisible for small bursts is one of them."

Manic nodded. "What about you? Can you use chaos energy?"

She gave nervous laugh, "I can, but I need a lot more training. And mine is a lot different than Rosie."

"Different how?" Manic mused.

"Well chaos energy is very unique for each person who can access it." Sure beamed, excited to share knowledge.

"Maria thinks Sonik-kun can run fast due to chaos energy." Rosie beamed.

"I don't think," Maria looked offended. "I know. Nothing other than a strong affinity to chaos energy explains it."

Manic bit his lip at hearing his brother's name. If he was able to run fast due to using chaos energy naturally. He pondered what else he could do? Would he be arrogant about it? Sonic already had a big ego.

Manic drove how RV following Maria's direction. Maria held Rosie in her lap as she gave directions. Manic was impressed but the tech jammers she had around her home to keep robuttnik out of it. It was high tech but blended seamlessly into nature.

"Where'd you get the tech?" Manic mused.

"I scavenged it and put it together." Maria smiled shyly. She opened the door and let Rosie jumped down. "Be careful," she softly scolded as she carefully climbed out of the RV.

Manic chuckled. "You're an over protective sister."

Maria froze at that. She fiddled with her fingers. "Do I seem like a good sister?"

Manic felt bad at hiking about something she was insecure about. "You're a great big sister."

Manic waved his hand gesturing to the kid happily watering plants. "I mean look at how much your sister likes you."

Maria looked guilty. "Amelia isn't my sister. She's a family friend's kid." She continued to pick at her fingers.

Manic shifted on his feet. He didn't do awkward silence well. "Well, blood isn't the only way to be family." Manic assured her.

Maria nodded as she yelled up at that.

"Maria and I will be sisters!" Rosie boldly announced as she watered some lavender.

“See?” Manic chuckled. “Though ‘will be’ is a weird wording.” Manic thought to himself.

Maria chuckled at Amy’s outburst. “How does my Miss Amy Rose know this will be?”

“I saw it!” she beamed proudly. “My cards are 100% accurate!”

“Oh? Are you a fortune teller?” Manic mused.

“Yes! I can tell Manic’s future with my cards.”

Manic smiled as he gave a bow. “I would be honored.”
