 Star Detective Precure Ep8 Review

The episode stars with Mystique and Answer gushing over how cute Pochitan is in her Precure outfit. The outfit based on Cure Answer's look. Jett doesn't get why the girls are gushing over it so much. They ask where the outfit came from and Jett states he made it. He figured Pochitan wanted to be a Precure, so he made her an outfit. The Girls call him amazing. I love how they stare at him for a long second before they tell him so shocking him into his fairy form. 

Jett soaks up the praise. The cures state that they noticed everything he makes is cute and ask how he designs everything so. Jett states it's because he's a genius. Good ole ego there sir. He states that he wasn't always that way and that he studied Cuteness seriously. 

Answer asks Jett why doesn't he open a shop since she feels it's a shame they're the only one who has them. And then we cut to the opening theme song. This makes me wonder, is this the opening of the first Pretty Holic store? Is Jett the owner? That feels like a lot of pressure for him, even if he is over 200 years old. Jett strikes me as the designer/inventor guy. Being a store owner might be too much with all those responsibilities. 

The episode is titled, "Pretty Smiles at Pretty Holic!!" 

ah, I love that my stupid rambling was answered so quickly. Don't make our poor Jett a store owner though. I want him to continue making things while eating a bunch of sugar.

Answer suggest they made items based on the PreKit and sell them. Mystique suggest having the store on the 2nd floor. Jett isn't too sure. Mystique explains that if people come to the store, they'll see the Detective Agency and thus, they'll know where to go ask for help if something happens! After all, location and advertisement is key when starting new businesses or selling things. Kind of wish I would remember to do this for my own stuff. Back on track, Jett agrees. He'll make some items and rake in the cash. Answer suggests a lip gloss. Mystique agrees as she's always been interested in cosmetics. I love how Jett just freezes as he was watches the cures talk. 

Cut to our bad guys. Nijee is talking about how the Cures are getting in their way. He wants to get rid of them. Maestro Noir tells him not to. He wants Nijee and the others to focus on getting the Makoto jewels only. Nijee reluctantly agrees. purple fox fairy wonders if Nijee would be able to get the Makoto jewel without getting involved with the Precure. 

The cures are cleaning the upstairs and talking about what they need to put where. We see Jett using tools that I find adorable. A blue hammer with a star on it. A drill with a shooting star complete with rainbow! Also, it's mostly in a sky blue color pallet! I love me some sky blue but it's a bit harder to find a cute aesthetic items. Most are mostly pink and despite my love of Kirby, I am not a fan of the color pink. We see him transform into his fairy form and do a cute dance and pose which sends out a heart that puts his magic into the item. Jett freaks out when the girls see him doing this.

Ah, embarrassment at its finest. I feel you Jett. It's happened to me before too. We also learn that his goggles aren't magical, just a lucky charm. 

Flash back to a young Jett with other inventing fairies!!! I'm noticing that most seem to be cats like Jett. Jett used to only care about the function of his inventions, but his teacher with the goggles' inventions were always the most popular. She teaches him the spell to put magic into items to make people smile. 

And it's after watching this flashback scene twice that I realize the makoto jewel might be in Jett's goggles this episode. Might. Hopefully wrong. But it was after that interaction with his teacher that Jett started adding cuteness to his inventions. Jett states that the teacher gave him their goggles when he graduated. Answer states they're his treasure and he nods. We get a shot of the teacher sitting in a chair in the evening breeze outside with a bonnet on! so cute!

Nijee was walking looking for the jewel comes across the Cure Detective Agency. He's surprised to find their headquarters. He wasn't planning on getting involved with them, but it's time for him to show his strength as a thief. We get a zoom in on Jett's goggles. I am so sad that Jett is the victim this episode.

Cute to a mass producing machine making what I think is perfume bottles and Jett doing the dance spell in his human form. I love the cures are doing it from a distance too. 

We have people visiting the store. The owner of the furniture store, an employee from the flower shop, and a sweets chef. Jett is one of the sweets chef's best customers. The first two go to the 2nd floor while the third goes to put the cake in the fridge. Jett goes to grab the payment for the chef but trips and drops several coins that fall under the couch. He takes off his goggles to better get under the couch and the cures help him collect the coins. When he goes to grab his goggles again, he panics that their gone. 

The Detective Cures are on the case. Using the mirror loupe, they can look at the footprints and erase their own. They have 3 sets, one for each of their visitors. Answer asks Pochi if she was reacting to the goggles and Pochitan nods. Then one of the bad guys stole them and is dressed as one of the visitors. 

Each visitor gives an alibi. Pochi whines as her stomach growls. The furniture store owner and chef are surprise and the cures cover it up with Mystique saying her stomach growled. The flower shop employee laughs that they must have a real appetite. We have our feather moment. 

The culprit is the flower employee. Or rather, Nijee dressed as him. Nijee transforms the goggles into the monster of the day. The Cures defeat said monster and return Jett's goggles to him. He's a bit shy on saying thank you though. The real employee from the flower shop shows up and apologies. His van was having issues, probably caused by Nijee. 

We see the Pretty Holic sign!! and pretty close ups of the items that I'm sure the Pretty Holic website already has on sale. Two of their classmates from school show up and question the sign. Answer explains that it means, "Full of cute things you'll go crazy over!" They invite them to come up and look at it. 

As Jett watches everyone shopping, he remembers his teacher's words about making everyone smile with what you make. 

A customer walking away transforms back to Arcana Shadow!! She pulls out the purple bottle of perfume and says it's cute. Fox fairy says that Jett has some good tastes. I like that Arcana Shadow shopped there though we don't know much about her yet. 

And with this we have the ending song! I really like this episode. We get more into Jett's backstory. Nijee said he couldn't return the goggles even more after hearing they are precious and create smiles. I'm more curious about Arcana Shadow and I've been seeing some things about her because I'm like four or five episodes behind. And we haven't even touched on Cure Eclaire who we know will appear at some point in the series. 

All in all, I rank this episode as an S. I love it a ton and Jett is holding a place in my heart right now.

 Star Detective PreCure Review Ep5 Review

This episode starts with Jett working in his lab as Mystique starts her new school semester. Nijee is told by Maestro Usonoir that he will not accept another failure. Answer and Pochi notice that it looks like it's about to rain and go to take Mystique an umbrella. Before they leave, Jett gives Answer a new gadget that is supposed to protect the cures when they're in danger. 

At the school, Answer is at the school gate when she sees Mystique laughing with 2 of her school mates. She feels jealous and sad about this. Answer goes to walk away and comes across a college student looking for her middle school age sister. Her sister is on exchange in London. But over the past few days, people have been telling her that they have seen her sister around town. She called the school office and was told her sister wasn't there. She called her sister in London that morning, but got no answer. 

Meanwhile, Mystique is given a case by the school headmaster to find the "Ghost" that a security guard saw by a statue of two birds during his night patrols. She tries to contact Answer with the memo tool. Answer, however, doesn't answer the device. I like that Mystique attempted to call her. Whereas Answer thought about it, but decided otherwise. I get that Answer really only has Mystique and Jett being in this time. She doesn't want to bother her friend who is currently at school with such things. We learn that Mystique is afraid of ghosts.

When the two meet up at school, they bicker about taking a case without the other. Pochi doesn't like they're bickering. Mystique runs off to ask a girl if she's noticed anything weird. The girl, who is the girl that Answer is looking for, was starting at the statue as the Cures argued. A swallow flies really low and close to Mystique and the girl as they speak. When Mystique leaves, the girl turns away and her eyes are Nijee's eyes.

Pochi then drags Answer towards the statue where a Makoto Jewel is in danger. They run into Mystique along the way and she comes with. The girl jumps down onto the statue. Answer is finally able to fill Mystique in on her case. The Cures bicker amongst themselves before Nijee interrupts them. Nijee explains he chose to disguise as someone on exchange because he wouldn't draw attention at the school. He couldn't figure out how to move the statue for several days though. So he went to the town to look into possible options of moving it. Mystique telling him that swallows fly low when it rains gave him an idea. He turned the statue into two swallows. 

After being tossed around by the Monsters of day, Jett's new gadget lands in front of Answer. Answer tries to use it, but it doesn't work. Pochi jumps in front of the cures to make a beam of protective light to keep the monsters from attacking the girls. Nijee decides to leave with the two monsters saying he got 2 Makoto Jewels. Usonoir angrily grips his stage vernaculars as he mutters about a time and space fairy. The two cures are left cradling a now past out Pochi in despair. 

I like that we get to see how the two cures deal with friction between them. These fights are needed for personal growth and you can't always have a victory every episode. We're laying some ground work. I also really like Nijee. So I give this episode a B rank.

Star Detective PreCure Ep4 Review

 Star Detective Precure Ep4 Review! episode title: Exciting! Our first client! 

The episode starts with Pink pacing as she is worried they have no clients even though the agency is open. A young man with a purple bag comes in asking for help and the cures and Pochi begin to panic as they don't know what to do until Jett tells them get a hold of themselves. 

After everyone is sat down for tea, the Client explains that all of his items in his bag have turned into produce! Queue the theme song! 

The cures each give him a business card for each of them. The client is a university student who is trying to become a Mangaka. He explains he realized his bag felt heavier and he noticed the potatoes. The strap on his bag is also shorter than what he had it previously. Purple suggest that the bags got switched. He then remembers he bumped into someone by the station and dropped his bag. 

Cut to the theatre of our Phantom Thieves Guild. Black cure is once again eating ice cream. There is a debate on who should go. Goemon, who seems to be inspired or based on Japanese theatre says he will go and show the Black Cure, the new comer, how things are done. 

The Cures and Client go to the station where the client explains that they collided with each other. But he doesn't remember what they looked like or who they were. A man painting a bench nearby overhears them and explains that a lady was looking for a man who took her bag. She is a young lady with glasses. Pink does a sketch of her, but it's not that great. 

The Cure group heads off in the direction of the lady went. Goemon says the Makoto stone is in an item wrapped in purple cloth. Black cure notices the client with the purple bag. The Cure group passes by a place giving out flyers for painting lessons. Purple takes one and says it would be useful to be able to sketch faces. Goemon takes notice of the bag in the client's arms. 

Goemon lands in from the Cure group and tells them to leave the Makoto Jewel to him. He uses his fan to make a burst of wind full of Cherry Blossoms, I guess that is his flower of choice. He runs away with the bag strap hooked on his fan. The cures use a Pre-Kit Light tool to create a bubble trampoline to give chase. Black Cure and her fairy realize after Goemon meets up with them that the bag doesn't have the jewel. Black Cure walks off after looking at the apron in the bag. Goemon grumbles about newcomers. He realizes the Makoto jewel is in the other bag and challenges the Cures to finding it first before disappearing in Cherry blossoms. 

The Client hearing this, says to just not look anymore. He makes manga to make people smile, not bput them into danger. The Cures explain they feel the same way. So it's decided he'll wait at the agency for them. The cures go to different restaurants in the area because there is food in the bag. The man at the curry place says he has no employee with the description of the lady. They notice ketchup on the apron and list foods that might be cooked where the mystery lady works. The Chef tells the Cures that the potatoes and Onions are sprouting and the apples aren't fresh. No restraurant would cook with them.

Goemon is looking from a roof top for a bag with a manuscript. He tells Arcana Shadow to help him look. She says she doesn't have to while eating a different ice cream from before. The fox fairy says she doesn't have to look, because Arcana Shadow already knows where it is. 

The cures go back to the station to try to get more ideas. The realize the area is paved, so how is there dirty on the bottom corner of the bag. Pochi touches the bench and gets blue paint on her little paw. With this the cures have their feather moment and realize the mystery lady is at the painting place. As they return the bag, Goemon shows up and steals the manuscript. The Cures give chase. When pressed how he knew where the manuscript was, he says Bread. That the new comer figured it. The fox fairy praises Arcana Shadow for knowing that bread could be used as an eraser and figuring out by just looking at the bag. Arcana Shadow says it was no biggie as she goes back to her ice cream. 

Goemon turns the manuscript into our monster of the week with a wave of his fan and cherry blossoms galore. We have a comic book manuscript monster this episode. I like that during the fight, we have the bubbles with words like POW, Thump, and such inside. It adds a nice touch. Goemon praises Maestro Usonoir for bestowing such amazing powers to make the monster. This is the first time the Cures have heard that name. Goemon brags that so long as his boss is happy, that is all that matters. We see Mystique Reflection. that's a new move that I don't recall seeing yet. The cures defeat the monster and Goemon leaves in his cherry blossom.

Back at the Agency, they return the bag to the client. Answer recognizes his pen name. Mystique is confused, but Answer says she loves his manga. She tells him, he's going to become a famous manga artist. The manga he makes is called "Solved by the Cyborg detectives." He asks if that's her deduction. Answer is stumped on how to explain, but Jett and Mystique both want to read it. So the episode ends on them all doing Rock Paper Scissors to decide who will read it first. Cut to the ending theme.

I like this episode because we see more of Arcana Shadow, though I don't know what's up with her yet. We know she loves ice cream. I like the Cures learn the name of the big boss. I feel like Goemon was a good character to give that information. I am a bit concerned that he seems a bit dim witted at times. But this is his first appearance. There is something in his personality and vibes that I just like an find a tad endearing at the moment. All in all, I rank this episode an A rank. 

Star Detective PreCure Ep3 Review

Ep Title: Everyone come to the Cure Detective Agency!
 Episode 3 starts with Jett and Purple cure cleaning the agency as Pink shows up with her belongings from her dorm. The two girls explore the agency on their way to Pink's room. Purple likes to organize the books by color and Jett calls it impractical. Pink is reading the books instead of sorting them and putting them on the shelf. We have a scene of the Cures exploring the 2nd floor where they find a map of the town with different markings on it. Purple feels down about being away from home. Pink decides they should all go shopping for decor for the agency. We learn that the Phantom Thieves guild is comprised of nasty Fairies! I like that we know off the bat they are fairies. 
we cut to a scene of a theatre. Our big bad, Maestro Usonoir, is addressing the members, all sitting in different parts of the theatre. I see that Noir, a word for black, is a part of his name. Nice touch. I took notice of our Black cure with her fox fairy in the theatre. I've got questions about why she's there. But it just dawned on me that her fairy that might have recruited her into being a Cure, might have talked her into joining the Thieves guild. We are introduced to Ageseine, a villain with red hair and purple and pink outfit. She gets to go on the mission today. 
The Cures enter a furniture store. They see a beautiful glass turtle and Purple asks Jett if they can get it to decorate the agency with. The store owner says it's not for sell. It's a symbol of their shop. "Like a Turtle, we may go slow, but we go forward a step at a time. And one day we'll build a bigger, more wonderful store." As the Cures are looking for furniture, the glass turtle goes missing. 
Our suspects are the Owner, the sales clerk, a lady and the store cat, and a foreigner tourist. The tourist only speaks English. Cures realize since the culprit couldn't have left yet, they probably hid the glass turtle in the store some where. They find the glass turtle in a bin of stuff animals and pillows. The sales clerk counts and states he's "Glass all 6 are there and nothing is broken." 
Purple goes, "Case close?" But Pink reminds her they haven't found the culprit yet. They are stumped by the fact the tourist doesn't speak Japanese, but Jett states he made a gummy that translates any language for them. The gummies are shaped like heart keys. The translation only works for 3 minutes. 
The tourist was with the sales clerk pinking out a scarf. The clerk says that since his mom loves gardening plants, he picked a scarf design with a similar pattern to the shop's sculpture. The lady customer was petting the store cat. When the girls are shocked they can understand the cat, Jett goes, "Aren't I a genius?" Jett I think I'm growing fond of you my good sir. 
/The tourist asks if he can leave as his mom is waiting for him. The owner notices that the clerk didn't put a sticker on the wrapped up scarf. She hands him a card with 6 flower options to chose from. The tourist says it's a tough decision, but he says he should pick one that matches the color and design of the scarf he chose. 
The cures have their light bulb/feather falling and bursting into lots of feathers moment. The thief is the clerk. He called the turtle sculpture a flower. He counted the limbs like flower petals. Most people don't count the head and tails with the limbs. 
The thief, Ageseine uses a make up brush to change back to her villain appearance. This does take a second and I laugh during it each time I see it. She snatches the turtle sculpture and runs. When she jumps down from the roofs she ran on, she is greeted by fox fairy and black cure. Black cure is almost always eating ice cream in EVERY scene I've seen her in so far in this show. Fox fairy delivers a message from Maestro Usonoir. "Defeat them and steal it with grace." With the message delivered, they walk away. 
I like that Ageseine uses a yellow flower to make the monsters. Nagi uses roses. Our monster of the day is a yellow flower. Kind of odd because she made it from a glass turtle. I do like that Ageseine seals off the area from everyone but the Guild and the Cures teams. No injured civilians! Yay! 
The black cure and her fairy watch from on top of a building. 
Once the Cures defeat the monster, Ageseine leaves with a big yellow flower. Back at the store, the real sales clerk shows up and apologizes for not being to find the thing the owner wanted. The cures explain that Ageseine dressed up as the owner to get him out of the way. 
With the Cure Agency now freshly decorated, Jett mourns his now empty wallet. Pink says she's adding helping Purple get back to her own time to her case load and the two strengthen their friendship. We see Jett has a a blue print drawn out of some type of heart shaped wand. Then we get our closing theme song. 
I rank this episode a B. I like that we had a call back to episode 1 and it seems the cures learned new tricks the Guild might use in the future. I like that we get to see the bad guys, but I still have questions. I do like they are all fairies and I look forward to one day seeing their fairy forms.

Star Detective Precure Ep2 Review

 Star Detective Ep2 review!

The episode starts off with Purple pointing to a signing saying this is her home. It's the Makoto Mirai town building site. The site is currently an flat empty lot though. Purple and Pink both begin freaking out. Purple wants to go home to celebrate her birthday. It dawns on Pink that she knows a place they can. And then we get the theme song. I'm going to be going through trying to find Cure Eclair for a while.

Episode title: Introducing the Genius, Jett-Senpai!

Pink takes Purple the to Star Detective building that Purple and Pochitan landed on her in front of last episode. Pink explains that the Precure are a secret and Purple asks if it's a secret, how come she knows. Pink doesn't answer but says "She'll" be able to help them. So we know one of the cures hang out at this building. They enter the building which has no lights on inside and don't find anyone.

Jett tells them from where he's hiding as he fiddles with a lollipop that he isn't taking commissions. Purple says she traveled back in time. Jett retorts that he doesn't have time for pranks. Pink says they're star detective Precures. Jett hops on the desk and the two call him a child. He questions if they're Precures before noticing the pendant that Purple is wearing. He falls off the desk and transforms into a fairy. When it's pointed out that he's a fairy, he turns back into a person ignoring the fairy comment.

The group are sitting down. Jett examining the pendant as Pink has if he's a PreCure fairy friend. Jett states he's the genius inventor Jett. He seems to be a bit full of himself like Jet the hawk. I will be making comparisons going forward. He invents detective tools.

Purple says it's amazing he doing that at such a young age. He asks her how old she is. She says she's 14. Pink is amazed because she is almost 14 too. The two girls are in their own world talking as Jett says he's 222 years old without noticing the girls aren't listening to him. Purple/Anna and Pink/Mikuru agree to call each other by their first names.

Jett asks how they got the pendants. Purple's was on her desk. Pink got her's from her grandma ages ago.

The intruder alert goes off in Jett's lab. All of his snack are in a pile in the floor and Pochitan appears from the pile. Jett notices Pochitan is a time space fairy. That she used her powers to time travel and can't take Purple back until her powers return. They'll need makoto jewels to charge her powers. Jett is shocked they have one. The place the Makoto jewel on her bowtie like they did Mofurun. Pochitan then summons a sippy cup. They feed her and Jett says they probably need more Makoto jewels. Pink says they can surely find them with the help of their veteran Star Detective Precure.

Jett explains that she was there until a few months ago. But she's suddenly disappeared. Jett came from the London star detective agency to close this one. Purple states that they're here. Her and Pink can be Star Detective. Pink asks what about returning to her time. Jett states he doesn't accept them as PreCures. He only believes what he sees with his own eyes. Pink says she'll show him, but then the grandfather clock tolls. Pink says it's her school dorm's curfew. So she'll show him tomorrow. Before she leaves, Pink orders Jett to let Purple and Pochitan to sleep at the office.

That night, Jett is looking at the pendant. 28 years is a long time to jump even for a time and space fairy and wonders if the pendant has powers that aided Pochitan to do so. Not sure of answer, Jett turns into his fairy form and goes to bed.

The next day, Pink bursts in saying she'll show Jett that she's a precure. Pochitan with her harness on Purple runs around and out of the office. Pink and Jett give chase. Pochitan stops at a cake shop and Pochitan tells them to help her. The girl, a mystery novel writer, lost her favorite pen. The writer says an old lady was talking to her and then disappeared and so did her pen. The phone lines are down. Purple says she'll go on foot to look for the old lady. Before she goes off, Jett gives her a Pre-kit. It's a cute little voice memo tool that looks like his fairy form.

The writer was writing at the café when an old lady in a green kimono and hair in a bun walked up to her and said she was a fan. She shook her hand as it was the first time someone told her she was a fan and it made her happy. But when she went to get her pen to sign something for the old lady, her pen and the lady were gone.

Purple walks up to an old lady matching that description as Pink sends a voice memo. Pink realized that the old lady is with the Phantom Thieves guild. The old lady smirks and says bye bye baby before running and being chased by purple. I feel like this is Nijee in disguise again. In the park the old lady runs into, we see several people we see in the Opening theme song which I think is cool.

Purple, Pink, and Jett concluded the Old lady is disguised as someone in the park. We have a business man, a male and female lovey dovey couple, and an gal with a pink handheld phone. The gal is talking on her cellphone even though the phone lines are down in the area. Once again when the answer dawns on the cures we get that feather animation. The cures confront the Gal high schooler with the fact that they stole the pen and that the phone network is down right now. It is Nijee!! He transforms the pen into our monster of the day.

Jett mentions that people can use the Makoto jewel in their hearts to become Precure. This is an interesting tidbit of background lore. Nijee says the Phantom Thieves guild's mission is to use Makoto jewels to envelope the world in lies. Jett says the Star Detective agency's mission is to stop lies.

The Cures defeat the monster of the week and get a blue star shaped Makoto jewel they give to Pochitan. No items appear or anything but Pochitan has been powered up, I guess. Jett notes that the damage from the Monsters is gone without a trace.

The group return the pen to the writer and apologize that the culprit got away. The writer is just happy to have her pen back and thanks them. Back at the Agency, Jett gives t he girl's Pre-Kit Books. It's proof that they're star detectives and that Jett accepts them.

Pinks says they'll protect the Makoto jewels, change Pochitan back, and help Purple return to her time. Purple says she can't stand a world covered in lies. So she'll be a star detective Precure with Pink and save everyone. She can go back afterwards.

Jett gives them special pens to write their names into their Pre-Kit books. The pens remind me of Sailor Moon's transformation pen but bigger and bulkier.

Jett welcomes them to the agency. and the girls call him Mr. Jett in subs and audio is Jett-san. He asks if there isn't a better way to call their elder. Jett is picky about how he is called and addressed. so is Jet the Hawk too. The girls call him senpai and Jett smiles and accepts that. We then get the ending theme.

I give this episode an A rank. It sets up the world more. Introduces us to our guy who will give us intel and items throughout the series. I am also curious about the cure who disappeared from the agency a few months ago. Is that Arcane Shadow or Eclair? I have questions. 

Star Detective PreCure Ep1 Review

 Star Detective PreCure Ep1 Review

The episode starts with Cure Answer, Purple, walking with her mom. Purple notices a little girl crying and offers to help her. She finds the girl's hair ribbon. At Purple's home, which seems to be a tall apartment building. They unbox her birthday cake. It is January 24th, 2027. That is next year. I hope next year is a magical one. Purple is now 14 years old. In her room as she poses in front of her bedroom mirror, she notices a pendant on her desk. She yells thanks to her mom for her gift. The mom confused, says she had promised to by her daughter a smartphone for her birthday.

The bear fairy, Pochitan, flies out of the closet and in the chaos of their encounter. They time travel before Pochitan can explain anything. We have a scene of Purple's mom entering the room to find her kid gone. And then the theme song. I noticed with the theme song that the Mom and Cure Mystique (Pink) have the same eye and hair color. The hair is cut with straight lines for both of them.

I have a theory that the mom and Pink are either the same person, or related in some way. Another tidbit is that the mom's earrings are similar to Pink's cure transformed earring in shape.

Also with the theme song I noticed a blond gal that I thought might be Cure Eclaire, however, the skin tones don't match. So after watching this episode 4 times, I've abandoned that theory.

After the theme song, Purple and Pochitan fall from the sky. Pochitan becomes an air ball and lands on Pink, how she survives is cartoon logic. And Purple bounces off of her. Pink takes Purple to get some shoes, thinking this is a part of the Star Detective test. I like that we see a commercial for a flip cell phone. Pochitan is now a baby and can't help. but she can magically make a harness connecting her to Purple and dragging her about the town.

The trio comes across a bride and her planner as they are missing a silver tiara and looking for it. Purple and Pink agree to help her find it and question the people who had visited her. We have a photographer, her friend who is always late to things who asked the bride to throw the bouquet her way, and the planner.

I find it interesting that is this show the tradition is that if you catch the bouquet that you'll share in the bride's happiness. Many shows that I have watched previously have told me the tradition that if you catch it, you'll be the next to wed. This coming from a few episodes of Sailor Moon, and I believe Case Closed. So I like hearing of other versions of the tradition.

I like the bride granted her friend the favor because she felt it was deserved since the friend showed up early instead of being late like she usually is.

The cures check the photographer's hat and the friend's bag to see if the tiara could of fit since they have a gold one of a similar size.

As the 2 are racking their brains of possiblities outside by a fountain. Purple gives Pink encouragement. "Take a single step, and the answer will follow! A single step of courage becomes the answer!"

A gust of wind blows Pink's hair ribbon into a flower bush on the side of the building. Purple mentions it's funny how the wind blew 2 girls' hair ribbons deep into hedges today. I like that the idea/answer dawns on the girls with an image of a feather falling onto water before bursting into a ton of feathers around them.

Back in the room with the bride and suspects, the cures point out it was the friend who hide the tiara in the bouquet. The friend laughs evil-ly. It reminds me of early Sailor Moon when the monster of the week pretending to be people would admit they were monsters. This time, it's a phantom theif, Nijee! I love Nijee's look and sassy flamboyant personality. The cures give chase and Pochitan with their harness flies the cures in front of Nijee. Nijee explains that a Makoto jewel was formed in the tiara because the bride had such sentimental feelings towards it. Nijee then turns the tiara into a monster of the week called Hanninda. I like these monsters have a top hat and half face masquerade mask and a mustache.

Nijee taunts the girls for being scared. Purple says she is scared, but she wants to get the tiara back. That the bride needs help and she wants to help her. I love that in these shows that the characters admit that she is scared, but is going to stand up despite that. Pink joins Purple in her resolve and the 2 transform into cures. I saw on reddit that someone pointed out how the girls form the numbers 3, 6, and 9 during the transformation with their hands and bodies. This is also where during my first watch at seeing Pink's earrings I went back to the very beginning to compare Pink to Purple's mom.

They attack the tiara monster and then Purple is like, "Did I say Precure?" I love these bits in the series. And Pink explains that this is what a star detective is. They defect the monster, get the makoto jewel. and Nijee disappears with a green smoke bomb. Also during the fight, Nijee mentions another cure, singular. I believe he is referring to Black as she the only other cure shown in the Opening and ending song. I think Cure Eclaire will be our mid season cure, or show up in quarter season.

The Cures and Pochitan watch the wedding from the roof of the church. They see the real friend showing up late and see her catch the bouquet.

Pink cheers and proclaims that April 2nd 1999 is the day she became a star detective. This is when Purple realizes she time traveled. Especially when it dawns on her, it was winter where she was from. And now it's spring.

and we go to the ending theme. I like the ending. I'm looking forward to seeing Arcane Shadow, our black and purple cure with the tarot card staff.

I give this episode an A rank. I think it's a great intro/set up episode for the series. I am looking forward to episode 2. 

You and Idol PreCure Ep46 review

 Ep46

The episode takes place on New Years. Last episode was Christmas, so two holidays covered by to back. 

The Idol PreCures, Mr. Tanaka, and the two fan fairies are having a New Years party at Mr. Tanaka's place. Mr. Tanaka suggest the idol PreCure transform. After they do, a TV prank show crew arrives and crashes the party. They all have fun playing games and eating food. Once the crew leaves, the Cures question Mr. Tanaka what was up with that. He responds to their questions with, "It was prank." He then explains that with all the hectic stuff and worries they have, he felt the TV prank show would be a fun break for the Cures. Is a very sweet thing and I love his delivery for, "it's a prank."

As they leave the party, KyunKyun and Wink notice Idol's new scarf. Kiss and Zukyun explain she got it from her own personal Santa, Kaito Hibiki. I personally don't like the Idol x Kaito shipping since he's 18 and Idol is 14. The age gap is only 4 years but Kaito is an adult and Idol isn't. I'm fine with Idol having a crush. But Kaito's actions while mostly seeming to be like role model/mentor in the idol industry, tend to lean into the flirting romance. The shojo bubbles aren't helping. 

The Idol PreCure have a sleepover at Idol's house. After all, Wink and KyunKyun must get all the details. Idol gets sleepy but didn't want to go to sleep since her friends are over. They decide to have drinks. Hot coco for the fairies and coffee for the humans. Wink is the only one who can stand the bitterness and the other 2 switch to hot coco. Idol's face as she tries coffee is hilarious. 

The next morning, the heart tree has turned black. This causes the people in the town to feel anxious. That negative energy is absorbed into the tree and the tree becomes the monster of the day. The cures fight the monster and turn it back into a tree. However the tree is still black. 

Magic fairy land's big ribbon light flashes a bit before turning off. The tree is spreading black leaves throughout the whole town. Kaito and Kazuma are out for a jog when they notice the leaves. Kazuma knows it's the work of Darkine. But he even he doesn't know what is up. 

We get our first look at Darkine outside of shadow is finally here. I also realize for the first time that the town is star shaped. 

I like how what I thought was a nice fluffy episode turned into the beginning of the end game. I knew it was coming yet was still caught off guard by it. I give this episode an A rank. I'm still curious for Darkine's motivations and we've got 3 episodes left in the series.

You and Idol PreCure Ep44 review

 The episode starts with Zukyoon in fairy form doing a crowd pleaser with one of the ribbons they get from monsters when the queen calls on Idol's device. Kiss hides behind Wink as she can't face her. The queen informs the Cures that they have gathered all of the ribbons and it's time to restore the Big ribbon in Kirakiland. Something I'm interested in since Chikkirine mentioned a Kurakuland last episode. Are there 2 magical worlds? Makes sense since one is full of happy emotions only. And we have the whole opening theme song for me to ponder this. 

After the credits the Cures, Mr. Tanaka, and Cutti and Zakkuri ? are gathered at the heart shaped tree. They point out a pink peach and say they'll be going to Kirakiland in it. Mr. Tanaka says they call it momo and it's actually name is M.O.M.O. but we don't hear what it stands for. The girls transform and we get the full transformation sequence here. I expect this episode to have a lot of background/lore drops. 

The all get into peach via magical color swirl and the peach gets absorbed into the tree. They all step out into Kirakiland and it's desolite and dark. They go to restore the Big Ribbon. With the Big Ribbon restored, it shines several pink lights across the land and everything gains color again. The other fairies are free from the dark rocks. Some fairies approach the PreCures and Zukyoon explains who they are. Cutti and Zakkuri apologize for helping plunge the world into darkness. The fairies invite the 2 to play.  Zukyoon thinks that's an awesome idea. She turns to invite Kiss to play but kiss isn't there. 

Kiss is walking in the forest thinking back on her past. She comes across a squirrel fairy who is afraid of the darkness coming and Kiss tries to comfort her. Zukyoon and other fairies approach looking for Kiss. Zukyoon explains that Kiss is also a fairy like her. Kiss says she wasn't ready. Zukyoon hugs her and tells her it will be okay. Kiss turns back into her fairy form and is thanked by the squirrel fairy.

The Cures have all detransformed for an audience with the queen. There is a party that will be held for them shortly. Kiss apologizes for using the heart lock when she was told not to. Zukyoon comes to Kiss's defenses. The queen says they must not do dangerous things, but they used the heart lock to help the cures and restore Kirakiland. She is thankful for the two of them. 

Wink asks about Kurakuland that was mentioned last episode. The queen THINKS, not knows for sure, but thinks that it must be the counterpart to Kirakiland. 

This time Kiss feels dizzy. Normally Zukyoon feels a shutter. A giant pair of purple scissors appears over Kirakiland, which is an island on water. The queen activates a defense with the big ribbon and the island sides fold up making the island look like a peach. 

Darkine says it's pointless. Kurakuland is made of human darkness and they will soon be swallowed by darkness. The queen tells the Cures that the defense power, Tsubomi, she deployed will not last long. Wink asks Kiss how she knew Darkine was coming. We get a flashback from when Darkine said that they share a destiny and that Kiss is a child of darkness. Kiss repeats she is a child of darkness and the queen corrects her. She is a savior. A child destined to stop the spread of darkness. 

The fairies outside the palace are worried about the big ribbon's lights dimming. Cutti, Zakkuri, and Mr. Tanaka begin handing out cheering lights and they begin to cheer for the ribbon with them. 

In Darkine's palace she says it won't be long as she observes the human world's increasing anxiety and fears. We also see Chokkrine in some purple tear drop shaped pod. 

Darkine transforms one of their classmates, Ruka, after she reads an article talking about the monsters. The monster is a phone with a wrist strap. Kiss shocks the monster with Kiss Shock and we have a small magical girl speech before we go into the whole group preforming. 

After purifying the monster, instead of a ribbon, we get a heart shaped glow that goes to the heart shaped tree. I guess to power the Big Ribbon in Kirakiland. 

Once Ruka wakes up, she is surprised to see Cure Kiss and then she remembers being turned into a monster. Kiss hugs her and tells her it'll be okay. If she's ever anxious again to remember that Idol PreCure is here for her and to believe and wait. 

Afterwards, the queen calls and explained that they sent sparkle happy energy to their world via the Heart Tree and that Kirakiland was made from all the good happy energy from the human world and the heart tree connects to the big ribbon. Kiss has the idea of making everyone sparkly in the human world to help strengthen the ribbon back home and that she knows Idol Precure can do it. She asks if the others will help her. They all agree. 

You and Idol PreCure Review ep43

 The episode starts out with a newscast about the monster attack at Kaito Hibiki's concert last episode. As the girls are doom thinking, Cure Idol sings a song to cheer them up. A man in the cafe hears her singing and inquires about it. She pops up from upstairs saying it's her. He asks Cure Idol to come audition for an idol debut for his agency. She is shocked and confused by it. 

Then cut to opening theme song.

The cures are having lunch at school. Zukyun and Kiss are in fairy form. They are discussing with Cure Idol about if she is going to accept the offer from the Mr. President man. Cure Idol isn't sure since she is already an idol as Cure Idol and she's not sure how it'll work being an idol as both a Cure and her regular self. Zukyun asks if Cure Idol wants to be idol. 

Cure Idol thought that idols were really amazing when they went to Kaito's concert last episode. She would love to make people feel sparkly even in her regular form too. Wink says it's decided then. And the other Cures say they'll support her. 

Cure Idol returns home to Cafe Glitter where the president is already telling her parents about his company. Her parents look a bit uneasy and say they want to respect her feelings. She says she wants to be an idol and to make people smile. Once it's agreed upon, Cure Idol starts singing but Mr. President says not to because she'll be using her voice a lot for vocal training and concerts. Also, he's eyes under the shades are yellow with a diamond pupil. This man is now suspicious. 

Mr. President feels the room with humidifiers and has Cure Idol wearing a mask. Kiss says she's got a bad feeling about this. Same girl. Same. 

Cut to a montage of Cure idol doing daily life, bursting into her happy songs and Mr. President popping up saying no singing,

During lunch, their classmates approach them talking about the monster that appeared at Kaito Hibiki's concert. They feel scared about the monsters coming up. Cure Idol wants to sing for them to cheer them up but can't because of what Mr. President has been saying. The fairies transform into their human forms and show up being the classmates and offer to walk them home.

Cure Idol is sad that she couldn't cheer up her scared friends and is contemplating things at the beach. Kaito Hibiki shows up and he tells her he had those doubts too. But seeing her sing to guests when he first went to cafe Glitter made him realize he wanted to try singing to his friend, Kazuma. 

The other Cures are having a small meeting after the fairies walked their classmates home. They're worried about Cure Idol. They resolve to go tell her in person that they will always support her no matter what she decides to do. 

They find her by the beach and tell her such and Cure Idol is so happy that she wants to sing but is trying to stop herself because of what Mr. President said. Also I realized that most of the human characters have a diamond shaped pupil in this show. So maybe not so sus.

We see Chokkirine playing darts while playing a japanese word game when Queen Darkine or whatever shows up in her shadow and threatens her to end the fight with the PreCure or be trapped in her darkness forever.

We see Mr. President walking down the street worrying about if Cure Idol is taking good care of her voice. He pauses outside of an old record store and we see a younger version of him singing in 80s rock glam look on some records. He doesn't want Cure Idol to end up like him. I'm guessing he blew out his vocal cords and can't sing anymore. 

Chokkirine turns Mr. President into a monster. He seems to be a humidifier wearing a mask. 

Red heart ribbon Cure Idol does the finishing move.

Whoever was in charge of animating the scene with Chokkirine back at the bad guys base. They did a great job. That scene was animated wonderfully. She looks ragged. Her movements make her desperation shine. Bravo to those who worked on that scene.

Mr. President comes to in a park. Cure Idol is there in her civi form. She says she's sorry but she wants to sing when she wants to and asks him to please forget about making her an idol. Mr. President tells her that when he was younger, people thought he would be a great singer. But he practiced too hard and damaged his throat. I was correct in my theory. I have also heard and seen this happen to people before. He didn't want her to experience that. and He's sorry for putting her through that. But she reminded him that singing when you want to is the happiest thing. 

As they're walking home, Cure Idol is singing happily and striking silly poses. KyunKyun then remembers that Mr. President seemed familiar because he was a famous rock singer. Shoutin Shuichi. KyunKyun and Wink are amazed she was scouted by someone so famous. Kaito Hibiki sees them walking pass on the other side and is happy to see Cure Idol has her smile back and says she really is an idol. 

Cut to ending theme song. 

Idol PreCure Ep40 review

Episode Title: Please listen! Seven-Colored Melody

The episode starts with Kyun Kyun showing the girls the little mascots she made of the Idol PreCure team. Kiss asks Wink who is her idol. Wink isn't sure at the time. When Wink gets home, her father shows her that her mom sent them tickets to France and tickets to her concert there. Wink says she's so happy. We cut to the theme song.

I like that we have a question and as Wink doesn't know for sure who her idol is, we can see from the next scene that it is her mom. 

After the opening, we see Wink and her dad running up a street, late for the concert because their flight was delayed. They make it just in time to watch the concert. The 3d model hands on the piano stand out.

We cut to the other Cures sitting at a table talking about what kind of souvenirs do they have in France since Wink said to expect some. 

Wink and her parents are sat down for dinner. Wink and her dad made it together. Wink is amazed that her mom still takes piano lessons even though she is a pro. Her mom tells her that because she is a pro, she must keep learning and work on improving herself daily to give the best shows. Wink's mom says they should have a nice leisurely outing after her lesson. Wink plays the piano for her parents after dinner. 

Later we have this adorable scene where Wink's mom is brushing Wink's hair and says she was nervous and lonely when she first came to France. When she was first offered the job, Wink told her that she warm in her chest when she heard her mom play and that she would support her going to France to do so for others. The scene ends with a cliff hanger of Wink's mom saying she has something to ask her. 

We have a scene of the other Cures looking at a news article on Kyun Kyun's phone about Wink's mom. Wink calls Idol's fun. I love that Idol answered with Bonjour. Wink tells the Cures that her mom has offered her dad and her to live in France with her. Wink is even offered to take piano lessons along side her mom. We have a flashback of Wink's mom brushing her hair and saying that she believes living abroad will help Wink's color (of her performance?) shine brighter. The other Cures become sad because they won't be able to see Wink. Wink says she also has to consider Idol Precure too. 

I love that Kiss is encouraging her to think hard about what Wink wants and that she should focus hard on that. Kiss says she won't be sad not seeing Wink again, and Idol and Kyun Kyun say that's a lie. and it is based on her sad face. I love that Kiss is trying to be strong and encouraging of her friend. 

After Wink's mom leasves for her lesson, Wink is practicing piano as it rains outside. She is also thinking everything over. She also doesn't understand what her mom meant by color only she can produce. 

Wink's dad calls her over from playing piano to show her a rainbow outside that has appeared now that the rain has stopped. He counts the colors of the rainbow and makes a comment that they always have seven colors. Something is sparked in Wink. 

Wink chases down her mom as she's walking outside. There are puddles and no others in site. She says she wants to play piano with her. 

We have brief scene with our bad guys. The magenta lady says she'll listen to whatever is bothering our guy in white. I don't recall their names at this moment. So deal with my nicknames. White snake man is like, nah, I rather work than talk to you. I do appreciate that magenta is trying to be a better boss, even if it's not going well.

Cut to Mr. Tanaka's house. Mr. Tanaka says that if Wink does move to France, then she'll graduate from Idol Precure, causing shock in everyone but Zukyun, who doesn't understand. Kiss tells her that it means Wink will quite the group. Zakkurin becomes distraught by this and tries to go to France to stop Wink as Cutti holds him back. Idol says that Wink will always be a member of the group even if she's far away.

We have a painter whose painting is blown into a water fountain/lake of some sort as he was almost finished with the painting. Also we have a rainbow in the stream of a water spout in this water feature. The Painter is our monster of the day. the monster is a canvas with a paint brush. The Cures quickly arrive on scene and transform. Wink is still in France so she is not here. 

Kazuma realizes that Wink is missing. He comments that after talking so big that their bond has broken. Idol says that rather Wink leaves or not changes nothing. They will always have a bond. 

After the cures get knocked around, Kazuma mocks them for being so weak all because one of them was missing. Wink shows up on scene and transforms. She kicks the monster down flat. The Cures gather around her and Kiss asks Wink if she made a decision. Wink says she wants to do things with everyone. Wink produces a rainbow barrier and sends the monster flying before we have her preform the song to purify the monster. I am a bit sad that her power up doesn't come with a new dress like Idol's did. 

Kazuma fleas and Zakkurin points out that he's the one who attacked him to Mr. Tanaka and Cutti. Idol hugs Wink while crying saying she's glad Wink is back. We also get a flashback of Wink telling her mom that she is her idol. 

We have a scene of Wink's mom watching Cure Wink's performance online. She notes how the melody is like her daughter's. 

We end the episode on a beautiful image of Wink surrounded by the other cures. 

You and Idol PreCure Ep31 Review

 You and Idol PreCure Ep31 Review

Episode Title: Who's the Center of Idol Precure?!

The episode starts with Idol going back to school after the Summer Holidays. Idol's classmate is super excited that Idol and Zuykiss preformed as a group of five and hopes they'll do it again in the future. Idol snickers a bit and says they will be for sure, since Idol PreCure is a group of 5 now. At lunch, the Cures are discussing how the Idol PreCure Whirlwind is beginning. Zukyun hearing octopus and thinking it means actual food. Idol points out that Zukyun uploaded a video without premission again. Kiss says it was to the official Idol PreCure CureTube channel, but then they both get bad hair. I love this gag. Sadly, I think it'll be the last one for this show. The season is only slated for 48 episodes I believe. So about 18 episodes left? 

Once the other Cures give permission for the video, their hair goes back to normal. KyunKyun says their all in PreCure fanclub cards are in and gives one to each of the Cures. Kiss asks why Idol is always in the middle. Idol hadn't noticed. Wink says that Kiss would rather have Zukyun in the middle. To which Kiss agrees. KyunKyun suggest they have a battle for the center, with lightning in the background. And with the basis of the episode started, we go to the theme song.

Idol asks what the Center is. KyunKyun goes into teacher mode and explains it's the idol that stands in the center of the group. They're the face of the group. They have the biggest influence. Zukyun has trouble getting it, so Kiss explains it with lunch examples. 

At Idol's place, the Cures are discussing how to pick the center. They mention Zukyun which makes Kiss fall from joy. Wink says they're group would be more mature. KyunKyun explains that because Kiss and Zukyun are symmetrical, if either is in the center, it would break the flow and they wouldn't be right beside each other. Kiss says they can never part. 

Idol asks if 2 can be in the center. KyunKyun explains it's possible. But with an odd number they can't make a tidy formation that way. KyunKyun says the most important thing is having a center everyone accepts.

At night while in bed, Idol imagines Wink as the center, and then KyunKyun. The next day, Idol is making a survey to see who everyone picks as who they would like as the center. She says she has to ask Mr. Tanaka and Cutty and Green fairy. Kiss explains they aren't home today. 

We cut to the new Idol Precure Pretty Shop, a store dedicated to the PreCure. Mr. Tanaka introduces his long list of jobs. Idol Precure manager, part timer at glitter, and Precure Pretty store shop manager. Cutty and Green fairy are in their human forms working at the shop. KyunKyun mentions that Green is wearing a Cure Wink pin. He says it's just a coincidence. Dude is still very shy. Cutty explains that the pins are to make it easier for customers to talk to them. 

Idol ask them about her survey. Cutty says Cure Idol. KyunKyun smirks going figures, she's your fav. She then teases that Green's must be Cure Wink cause she's his fav. KyunKyun likes to press Green's buttons. Green denies that Wink is his fav. Kiss points out that he's wearing 3 Cure Wink pins. KyunKyun keeps teasing him and asks what if Wink was center. He states it wouldn't matter. Wink looks brilliant no matter where she stands. Which gives us this shot of Wink with the shojo bubbles. I am concern about either this is fan or beginning of a crush behavior. Please don't become a Molly/Nephrite situation please. Green fairy asks for a change of subject. 

Idol asks Mr. Tanaka to answer her survey and he states he can't because he is their manager. 

Cut to a scene of Kaito Hibiki getting off an elevator and seeing the Idol PreCure group on a tv show with Cure Wink as the center.

In the Idol PreCure waiting room, Idol asks how it was to be the center. Wink says she was nervous and that until they figure out their center, she doesn't mind taking turns. It's KyunKyun's turn next. She's a bit nervous but will try her best. Kaito Hibiki knocks on her door. Idol realizes that Kiss and Zukyun are in fairy form and slams the door behind her and asks what's he doing there in the hallway. Kaito explains he had to record a promotion for a movie he's in. Said movie poster is behind him on the wall. He gives Idol tickets for her and the others to come see it. Kaito says he saw them on tv today and that they were positioned differently. Idol explains that they decided to switch it up since she was always in center and they wanted to decided properly. She asks him who thinks should be in the center. 

Kaito thinks about. He asks who she thinks it should be. It's alright to ask others but nobody can be the center alone. He tells her that if you look at each other, it'll become clear who should be in the center. 

Jogi is watching the PreCure's latest performance on tv as Chokkrine enters. Jogi teases Chokkrine that she can't get anything done without a henchman. He teleports to floating over the city and says so this is where he is. That guy. 

We get a pan up to Kaito's movie poster. Does Jogi have history with Kaito. Or is he talking about someone else? 

The cures are sitting at a table by the theater after seeing the film. Idol is staring at them. Wink asks what's up and she explains what Kaito told her earlier. She says she thinks everyone's the center. They're all so awesome that it'll be sparkly no matter who is in the center. 

A guy at the movie theater got some popcorn and trips while carrying it. Jogi sees the darkness and turns him into the monster of the day. A popcorn bucket.

The Cures being close by arrive and transform. After they transform, Idol goes that they haven't picked a center yet. Jogi remarks that they must have extra time. The monster attacks the theatre and Zukyun mentions that there are still people watching movies in the building. Kiss uses her power to seal off the space so innocent people won't get drawn in. Nice to this power now. The space is full of colorful mushrooms and green hills. 

Jogi mentions that they're just playing idol. Cure Idol goes into a magical girl speech and the other Cures decide with that speech that Cure Idol must be the center. They defeat the monster and things go back to normal.

The guy is sad about his popcorn, but says it'll be okay. One of the lady's working at the theater asks if he's okay as she begins picking up the popcorn and his heart goes kyun. He now has a crush on her. There are shojo bubbles and all. 

We cut to the opening of the Idol Precure Pretty Shop and Kaito sees them from the back and walks away into an ally. Idol approaches him and says he should have said hi. He didn't want to interrupt but he notes that they picked a center. She says they all decided it together. They chose her and she wants to work extra hard now. Kaito Hibiki says she should cherish the friends who accept her. As she walks away, Kaito says wait. He grabs her hand and tells her not to loose her bonds. Idol responds with Okay. And then we go to the ending theme song.

So Kaito I've been tetter tottering on if I like or not. Mostly because are you going to become a love interest or a mentor figure. The shojo bubbles make it hard to tell. But with this, I think he now has ties to Jogi. Given that most of our bad guys have been fairies, does this mean that Kaito Hibiki is a fairy? Did he and Jogi loose their bond? Are we going to have a Parfait/Waffles situation of two buds torn apart due to miscommunication and jealousy. I have so many questions!!

I rank this episode of B. If it were for all the questions I now have, I would probably give it a C. But man, they got me pondering shit now. So a B it gets.

 You and Idol PreCure Ep30 Review

Episode title: Precure! Kirakkiran for you!

We start the episode with Zukyun shaking the egg shaped heart lock wanting her friend back. The Cures are confused as to why the heart lock ate Kiss. Wink mentions that they don't know what Kiss wished for on the heart lock. Which we do NOT! I've been yelling at the screen about what did she wish for since they appeared as Cures. 

We get a shot of Kiss running in the darkness void. Then the theme song. After the theme song we have them at a table with Mr. Tanaka at his house. Zukyun is hugging the Egg heart lock with tears in their eyes. Mr. Tanaka calls the Queen of sparkle land cause if anyone knows what Kiss wished for, it's the queen. Kiss wished for her future with Zukyun. 

The Cures believe the heart lock ate Kiss because her and Zukyun couldn't be together forever. They all think it's sad. Even Cutty and Green fairy show up and are crying. Green fairy is crying on Mr. Tanaka's shoulder. The queen apologizes to Zukyun. Kiss wanted to keep it a secret to keep her from worrying.

The queen then explains why Kiss is a special fairy. When signs of Darkness appear in the world, one who knows darkness is born together with the Heart Kirari Lock. 

This is Cure Kiss/Meroron. Everyone in sparkle land is only born with light. They don't know darkness, a feeling that can erase sparkles. But Kiss was born feeling it with no one else who could and thus felt alone. 

Mr. Tanaka then brings up that it had been awhile since their wishes were granted. So why did the Heart Lock eat Kiss now? The queen explained that before Kiss's dream of the future with Zukyun was still unclear. But recently, last episode, her dream of the future became clear.

Wink realizes that Kiss wants to be friends with all them and that cleared up the future. They beg the queen for a solution to free Kiss, but the queen doesn't know. The Cures become determine to find a way to free. 

At the bad guy lounge, Chokkirine, our bad lady, meets Jogi. He's the new hire. We saw him a few episodes back when he turned green fairy into the monster of the day. He's going out today. 

We cut to a shot of Idol and Zukyun sitting by the heart shaped tree trying to talk to Kiss through the egg heart lock.

Jogi, our new guy on the block, turns the couple from when the Heart Lock was first introduced into the monsters of the day.

The Cures have a meeting were Wink summarizes what happens in the Bond Ribbon book. Idol decides to sing about the Bond Ribbon to Kiss in the Heart Lock egg. This causes one of the cheer wands to light up and Zukyun uses it to magnify whatever friendship energy is happening. A wand appears in the void with Kiss. Just as Kiss is about to reach for it, the monsters of the day attack. The Monsters are a Key and Lock. Very fitting for the theme of this episode. Zukyun is sent to protech the egg heart lock.

Jogi says today we have a special guest before we zoom up onto the lock on the egg. Inside the void Kiss can't hear the song anymore. Darkine appears before Kiss and says to forget about the Cures. 

While Darkine is trying to welcome Kiss to her ranks, the Cures are fighting the monsters. Darkness makes a copy of Kiss that's in less saturated colors to represent her darkness and sweet talk her into joining their side. During this, Kiss says the one she can't stand is herself. Which fairy, I feel you. Also I now like you a ton more than I did before. 

With the power of friendship, the cheer wand, Kiss says each Cure's name connecting them and says that she wants to be friends. Kiss breaks free of the darkness and heart lock. Kiss and Zukyun transform. They each get a ribbon power up item, the Bond Ribbon. All of the Cures preform putting the bond ribbon in a loner wand that they spin like a baton. 

 My hubby pointed out to me that the couple's names, "Jo and Kii" sound like Joke when said next to each other. I do not think this was on purpose, but it is funny and I can not unhear it now. 

Idol calls this new item the Kirakkiran Ribbon Baton. And all the Cures hold it up to the Pink heart shaped tree. 

We have a scene of Kiss and Zukyun leaving Mr. Tanaka's house to move into Idol's place. Not sure why, they don't have to hide as fairies at Mr. Tanaka's house. But I'm sure he's happy to have his home back either way.

This episode was great. I now really resonate with Kiss. I rank this episode an A.

Episode Title: Meroron's Friend

This episode starts with fireworks going off in the heart lock and a close up on Cure Kiss's face. All of the Cures are at a Q&A panel with elementary kids. One kid asks if they are friends. All of the Cures, except Kiss, say that they are. After the Q&A, Kiss gets angry and says that they shouldn't group her and Zukyun with them and runs away with Zukyun as they go into their fairy forms.

Later the trio is sad as they want to be Kiss's friend. Kiss, meanwhile, is angerily stabbing octopus sausages and placing them in a nagging Zukyun's mouth. This bit is funny because she goes from upset to happy with each octopus and back to upset. 

Idol comes up the stairs singing about how she wants to be friends with Kiss. The other cures join in. Kiss flies away saying, "Sissy you don't get it."

We get to Mr. Tanaka in fairy form as they all have a meeting on helping Zukyun understand Kiss's feelings, because Zukyun is just not getting it. Wink wonders if it's really true that Kiss only wants to be friends with Zukyun and no one else. Wink wonders where Kiss went and Zukyun explains that it's probably the library and we see a flashback of Zukyun making a tower out of the books. 

While looking for a book about the Bond Ribbon at the library, Kiss is having trouble finding it. Wink comes and helps her find it. After finding the book, the two sit together reading. Kiss is not quite getting the book, so Wink tells Kiss a story about herself as a little girl. How she wanted to be friends with others but was too shy to say anything to them. How she over came that by an interaction with Idol as a kid.

Also at the library, is our bad lady. She's buying a book on how to keep employees from quitting. She doesn't like how sparkling the librarian is so she turns her into a monster. Our monster is a bookshelf!

Kiss is concerned because she can't transform without Zukyun. Wink says to leave it to her since she's here. Kiss then transforms on her own!! This really surprised me. They begin fighting the monster.

When the other Cures arrive on scene, Zukyun is like, "You transformed on your own. I'll try it too!" And she does. She tells Kiss that she'll always love her and that she won't go anywhere.

Kiss and Zukyun are the finishing song attack. 

Wink checks out the bond ribbon book for Kiss.

As the other Cures are talking, Kiss makes up her resolve become friends with the others. The heart lock then appears and EATS her. She is swallowed by the heart lock and it becomes a big egg statue thingie. The episode ends here. 

This ending threw me for a loop. I wasn't prepared. But also, next episode we should hopefully finally figure out what it was she wished for! 

I rate this episode an A. It's great character development. and the ending threw me for a loop.

 You and Idol PreCure Ep28 Review

This episode the Cures are going to visit Idol's grandpa's house with her family. I knew from the last episode that this one was going to make me cry. And I was right. The doggo has voice lines that I thought for most of the episode was the grandpa talking for the dog. It was funny when I finally realized I was wrong.

I love that they left an offering by Grandma's picture. I was debating with my partner if the grandma was dead or sickly. 

the cures go about having a good time at grandpa's. Walking by a stream, eating fruit, and making rainbow's with sprinklers. The doggo enjoys playing with Grandma's old slipper.

Grandpa asks Idol if there is anything she wants from her grandma's room as he wants to clean the room while he is still healthy enough too. This makes Idol sad so she runs away to be alone. The doggo following her. We get some flashbacks of Grandma, doggo, and Idol together. Idol can't remember everything about her grandma and she's worried if she cleans her room that there will be other things she'll forget.

The other Cures and Idol's family are having a meeting about maybe it was too soon to bring it up to Idol. Doggo enters with a photo of Grandma, doggo, and Idol by some trees. Grandpa remembers the time capsule that they buried. The Cures and doggo go to the look for it while Mr. Tanaka stays to help the adults with something at the house. We get an adorable shot of Zukyun digging like a doggo to help find the time capsule.  

They unearth the time capsule as the bad lady shows up and turns the doggo into the monster of the week. This one being a slipper. 

Idol wakes up and sees the evil looking sky and goes to help the other Cures. During the fight, Idol finds the time capsule and she finds a spoon with a red ribbon on it. Like the ones she made for Zukyun and Kiss. Wink and KyunKyun tell her they heard about it and wanted to get it for her. We have a flashback of when Idol tied the bow on it and sang for her grandma. Idol gave it to Grandma. 

And it was at this moment, I was in tears. 

Idol is our performer this episode. 

Our bad lady mutters about it must be friends to always being with their friends. A possible beginning of her redemption arc? 

At home, Grandpa explains that Grandma knew she wasn't long for this world. So she made the time capsule and put things that were important that she thought Idol might need it one day. 

We then have the family's 58th karaoke contest. Idol gets to sing first. She sings the song she sang for her grandma with the spoon she made for her.

Grandpa is glad he sent the doggo to live with Idol. We get a flashback to after Grandma had passed with Idol crying and how the doggo didn't leave her side. We also know with that scene that Idol's little sister was a baby at the time. And the death I believe was 6 years before. So this makes the little sister around 6 years old.

We have scene were the doggo thinks that Idol can understand him only to realize she can't. A funny moment considering last season was Wonderful. 

This episode was great. Got me in the feels. I rank it an A. 

You and Idol PreCure ep27 review

 We start the episode seeing Cuttin and Zakkurin helping the Cures with the fanclub and get a flashback on how they joined the bad guys. Cutting explains they've been thinking that fan activities are a good way to help get people out of pitch darkness. He asks the Cures to upload more videos to CureTube, this world's version of YouTube. I love that they just call it CureTube. Are the other Pretty Cure on this website too?

The Cures agree to make an official channel and begin uploading an intro video.

The episode mainly follows them as they record videos to upload. A cooking video of Zukyunn, who really just wants to eat Octopus sausages. Cure Wink in a flower field over doing the lights. A several hours long video of Kiss saying all the reasons she loves Zukyun as the others fall asleep behind her. It's hilarious. 

At school, Idol's classmates ask how she got into all the PreCure's video in the background. A boy in her class fell in love with her after seeing her in the CureTube videos. After school, Idol finds a love letter from her in her shoe locker on top of her shoes. I actually really like this trope in Japanese shoes. It's adorable and a nice way to leave an anonymous note. Please only leave nice ones though. Like, "You were really cool in class today," or, "I really like how you style your hair." Let's use our powers to leave nice messages and not mean ones okay.

Idol isn't sure how to respond to the letter, while the others are like it's so cool.

They go to record KyunKyun's video and it's a call and response practice video. Mr. Tanaka has to remind them that the fairies and the others need to be careful about being caught in the frame. 

Our bad lady turns the guy who wrote Idol a love letter into our bad guy for the day. He is a love letter with a pompadour. 

The cures fight the monster and we have the Trio doing the final performance this episode. Later Idol is late to Mr. Tanaka's place. She's panicking over getting a 2nd letter from the guy. The other cures are excited. The letter explains that he fell in love with Cure Idol. The other cure's attempt to comfort her for being 'dumped'. Idol isn't sad about it at all. 

We have them breaking the 4th wall as they go, "We'll make viewers like you feel Kirakilala!" which I just call sparkling. 

This episode is a skippable episode. A filler you could call it. But it's adorable and precious. These are the kinds of episodes I enjoy. I rank this episode a B.

Kyun Makes Perfect

The episode starts with KyunKyun seeing kids singing and dancing at a playground. An idea strikes her and she rushes off. The other cures are at Idol's family cafe and Kyun bursts in saying they should create a fanclub.

Kyun gives the other cures a Fanclub 101 course. Very cute animation here. Kiss asks what kyun kyun means and Kyun explains it. Kiss gets it and wants to make a fanclub just for Zukyun. 

While discussing what kind of fanclub to make, they go over how to make it special and make everyone happy. They suggest what can of merch to make. They decide to make picture cards of the Cures with stickers and member numbers.

They take a photoshoot for the cards. Kiss refusing to do an all five photo. They also finally go through the questions in the fanmail. Idol is not good with idioms. Kyun's is "The stronger the love, the better you'll get." We get a flashback of her practicing to dance as a little kid in the living room with her dad watching her. We see her fall a few times before doing it and her dad patting her head saying the saying.

At night, Kyun's mom walks past her room after a bath and tells her that even if it's summer break she shouldn't stay up too late. Kyun tells her that she's helping set up the official Cure fan club and that she'll go to bed once she's done with the products she's working on. 

The next day, the site is done and the cures write messages on cards to send to fans. On the day the registration for the fanclub goes live we see the Cure's classmates, Cutty, and the lanky luigi guy who was redeemed last episode. 

The main bad lady from before has to go town now. She's annoyed by how sparkling everything is because of the fanclub and transforms one of the lady's at a shop into a monster. The monster is an outside store sign board. When one of fairies call her by name, she says' that it's Mistress for them. 

During the fight, KyunKyun goes ham on the monster and the other cures cheer for her. Even Kiss, who normally only cheers for Zukyun. So we get treated to a solo KyunKyun performance.

Back at Mr. Tanaka's house they check on the fanclub application numbers. It bounces from 1 thousand to 2 and ends at 10 thousand with Tanaka having to hand make the membership cards. The Cures check the registered members and see the first 2 are from Kirialand and their names are Cutty and Lanky Luigi dude. The 2 dudes they just reformed and Mr. Tanaka only goes, "I feel like I've heard those names before."

Cutty and Zakkuri (Lanky luigi dude as I have dubbed him) knock on the house as it is now the official PreCure fanclub organization building.  

THEY'RE FAIRIES!!!!????

I wasn't prepared for them. Mr. Tanaka goes into his fairy form and says he never noticed. But he also acts like he recognizes them. That's not explored though as they're there to get their membership cards and packages for joining. 

 We end the episode with Kyun talking with her mom about how it's her talent to pour her heart into the things she loves. 

The episode threw surprises at me that I wasn't prepared for. I also really enjoyed it. I'm ranking this episode B.

You and Idol Precure Ep24 Review

 This episode is about Mr Tanaka's day off. So he, of course, is the narrator. He wakes up and stretches and enjoys his morning coffee. He also mentions how that because ZuKyun and Kiss live in his place now, they've changed the decor of his home a lot. He is still unhappy about it.

ZuKyun tells Tanaka that she is going to Idol's house for breakfast. Kiss wakes up shortly after and is like, "Where's sissy?" Tanaka has a bad feeling about telling Kiss, but tells her anyway. Kiss is mad at Idol. She says she is the moon and Zukyun is the sun. She rushes off to Idol's house. Tanaka gives chase after Kiss telling her to slow down so she doesn't get hurt. 

We learn from Tanaka's narration that this episode takes place during the summer holidays.

At Idol's house, Zukyun and Idol are having breakfast. Kiss flies into Idol's head before she can remove a piece of rice from Zukyun's cheek. Kiss says she'll remove the rice for Zukyun. Mr. Tanaka enters slightly out of breath. Idol's family dog wants to play with Mr. Tanaka. Mr. Tanaka is afraid of dogs due to a past incident. Kind of nice to learn more about him. It seems based off the image flashback that dogs actually really love him naturally. Mr. Tanaka knows it's not Idol's dog's fault, so he plays tug of war with the dog. Idol's dog lets go of the rope when Wink and KyunKyun enter. Causing Mr. Tanaka to fall backwards. 

The girls mention it is the first day of Summer vacation and are trying to make plans on what to do with their holiday. They ask Mr Tanaka if he has summer holidays. He says no. He hasn't had one since arriving in the town about 10 years ago. I like how this fact shocks the girls. They're young teens who probably never realized that adults don't get summer holidays or even thought about it. 

Zukyun asks if he would like a holiday. He says sometimes wishes he could relax. He could soak in a hot spring or go fishing in a mountain stream.

The girls decide to do all his work for him for the day so he can take a break. Mr. Tanaka then tries to go do other work he hasn't gotten to and the girls are like, "No. We'll do that for you." 

They wind up looking at boxes of fan mail that Mr. Tanaka hasn't been able to sort yet. Mr. Tanaka begins sorting the letters and Zukyun lectures him and her face is adorable as she does so. All the girls glare/pout at him so that Mr. Tanaka will actually take a holiday.

At the villain bar lounge, we have lanky and the lady in magenta. Lanky is leaned over on the bar, super tired. Magenta lady asks if he wants a summer holiday. He can have all the summer holidays once he plunges the world into darkness. I also don't think I've seen her make a monster at all since arriving. Lanky whines that he needs a break and watches some of Cure Wink's concert on his phone before going, "Why am I watching this?" Even though he was smiling as he was watching it. He goes to the town but can't find any sparkling people and is exhausted. 

Wink notices him while on patrol and walks up to him believing he's a person in need. They pause as they go, "It's you!" He even recognizes her out of transformation. He's upset she doesn't remember his name. But tells her to leave him be since they're enemies. Wink puts her sun hat on him and says she can't leave him alone while he's unwell. Is this the beginning of his redemption arc? 

Also his name is Zakkuri. I also forget his name often. So I just call him Lanky or Luigi or Waluigi. \

We cut to a shot of them on a bench in the shade. Wink has given him water and Lanky questions if it's okay  for her to do so. Wink explains that everyone needs a break sometime. You've got to get relief sometimes. He offers him a handkerchief with her cure shapes on it. Wink says it's not good for him to be out in such warm clothes during the summer and he retorts that his belly is showing. Wink looks at him sternly and says that he should stop acting strong and stop stealing people's sparkle energy. He shots back that it's his job. He takes off her hat and stomps away, still holding the handkerchief. He also notices an odd feeling in his chest. He's beginning to start that redemption arc, I can feel it. 

We have KyunKyun, Zukyun, and Kiss sorting the letters. Zukyun getting overwhelmed with figuring out which pile of letters is for who. Idol over fills a coffee cup as she worries about them.

Mr. Tanaka is soaking in a hot spring. He can't help but be worried about the Cures. He calls Idol to check in and she tells him that everything is going great. She doesn't want him to worry since he just got a break. Mr. Tanaka knows he should be happy they're fine without him there. He leaves the public bath and transforms into his fairy form and flies off saying there are things he must do. 

Lanky transforms an old man who is leaving the same public bath Mr. Tanaka left earlier into our monster of the week. This monster is based off a massage chair. 

During the fight, Lanky wonders why when he sees Cure Wink that his chest feels funny. At the end of the fight, he says they only won because he was having an off day. The whole time, wiping his sweat away with Wink's handkerchief.  He falls from the sky due to exhaustion. Cure Wink catches him and he questions why she's holding him like a princess. 

Wink puts him down and says she hopes he feels better soon. Lanky retorts that she should be so nice to him. He flinches when he sees her expression turn sad. Cure Idol asks how he can be so mean since Cure Wink is worried about him. He teleports away in purple smoke.

I know we have a long way to go on the redemption arc for this man. He is not sure how to express or even look at his emotions in a healthy manner. We see him kicking a pebble down a walk path in front of a sunset and the ocean. He yells into the sea, "I'm such a fool."

The Cures return to Cure Idol's place to find Mr. Tanaka cleaning dishes. He also has written up plans for the future of Idol Precures and ZukyunKiss groups.

Idol says he was supposed to rest today. 

Mr. Tanaka says that thanks to that he was able to find what he needed to do and how he feels. He feels that he wants to support all the PreCures. The girls say he's amazing and they they actually haven't finished many of the tasks that he normally does. This actually makes Mr. Tanaka happy as it shows there are some things only he can do. The girls are confused but Mr. Tanaka is laughing. I don't think I've seen him laugh yet in this series. He's normally very monotone. 

I enjoyed this episode a bunch. I like that we learn more about Mr. Tanaka and we've begun what I'm sure is the redemption arc for Lanky. I give this episode a B rank. 

You and Idol PreCure Ep22 Review

 I like that the episode starts with all five of the idols welcoming you into the show before we get a brief recap. Also we're almost at the half way mark of the series as the show is slated for 48 to 50 episodes I believe. 

We see the girls studying as white fairy eats donuts. Blue is concerned that Mero called them rivals. Pink says they can just become friends and that'll solve it. Mero shows up asking white fairy why she's always finding her with the others. White fairy says it's because the girls are there and that there's always yummy food.

Mr. Tanaka comes up as says a new job from Pretty Holic has come in for the girls. It's a rival showdown between the three cures and ZukyunKiss. 

After the opening we have the whole cast enter the pretty holic store. I like that purple hasn't met the store manager yet and is slightly confused that the others know her. Her formal way of introducing herself is so cute. I also find it precious that Mero is in the bag with White fairy. Pink says Mero is their new Mascots. 

The store manager explains the campaign to them and shows them the new products to represent ZukyunKiss. Later at Pink's house in their sitting area they discuss if they will agree with the campaign. The girls think it will be fun. Puri (White Fairy) cheers for Cure Idol as Mero wants to prove her and Puri are better. Mr. Tanaka will let the Pretty Holic company know that they agree it. 

At the event, they see that people can write messages to the Idols on a board. Pink and Blue get approached by fans wanting to know which idol is their fav. Purple grabs them so they can retreat. The three return home and tell them how the event is going. 

Mero says of course ZukyunKiss will win. They're bettere than Idol PreCure. This ignites of fire in Purple and the two argue about who is better. Purple being a huge fan of Blue and Pink's cure forms. Puri watches confused and slightly amused while Pink and Blue are a tad nervous. Puri says she'll just Idol PreCure which greatly upsets Mero.

Mero wonders how she can get Puri to pay attention to her and realizes she can do it through the stomach. She challenges them to a cooking battle that Puri will judge. Blue is confused by the cooking battle but Purple and Pink are reared up and ready to go. They have one week to prepare.

The trio has a meeting to decide what to make. Puri really loves octopus sausages. Which is part of why I nicknamed her Glizzy Globber with my Hubby. Blue says they should add other dishes and make a special menu.

Cut to Mero amongst several cook books stirring a giant metal pot. Mr. Tanaka comes over holding a napkin over his mouth. Mero offers him a taste and he says he'll pass. 

Cut to the Trio. They've made a spaghetti that they'll top with an omelette and draw a picture on. Pink attempts to draw Puri and Mero on it, but it's not that great. 

Cut to Mero. Mr. Tanaka now has a full face mask on going you can ask for help and any time. You can also back out. Mero is still cooking in the big silver pot and has a basket of watermelon and fish next to her. 

Cut to the Trio. Purple shows the girls her fav dish which is Rice balls. She really likes the ones made by her grandma. I'm getting flash backs to Delicious Party PreCure with this one. They ask what Blue's fav dish is and she pulls out a banana. Blue, my sweet girl, a banana is a snack. Not a meal or a dish. But I love you anyway you quirky child. Also her real name is Nana. So I'm not sure if the banana is a joke or not.

Cut to Mero again. She's adding spices to this giant pot and Mr. Tanaka now has a gas mask on.

These back and forth scenes are great. It's a great juxtaposition between the two. 

After the eyecatch we see the Trio with their dish under a cloche. It's finally the day of the cooking battle. The fairies leave Mr. Tanaka's house with him to Pink's house.

Our lanky bad dude sees a woman who is happy that the eggs were on sale so she could buy a lot and he decides to make her the monster of the day. Boo! Dude do you have any idea how expensive eggs are right now? We got bird flu and all this and that driving up the prices. and you got the audacity to be made at this woman for being sparkly and happy from getting a good deal and being able to buy lots. You're a jerk. Monster is an egg with a crack hole in the center, the yellow pompadour, green glasses, and the gloves and boots. 

Puri feels a shudder and Mero instructs Mr. Tanaka to take care of her stuff. The two transform. I'm curious when we'll get to see their base human forms in the show. But we've got plenty of time for that. 

The monster spits grey and black eggs as an attack. 

Kiss uses Kiss Shock and Zukyun gives it a good kick afterwards. The egg monster sheds it's grey shell for a black one with no opening and begins bouncing to crush stuff. Their attacks bounce off it. We then see the trio transform. The group struggle to damage the monster. Cure Idol notices the hole it briefly got stuck in earlier and begins trying to lure it into it. Cure Wink and Cure Kyun Kyun realize and help. Once the monster is in the hole, Zukyun and Kiss do the song defeat attack. The ribbon is a mint green. 

We cut to the cooking battle with everyone. Mero unveils her pot and it's a full spread of different delicious looking food. Burgers, a big prawn of some sort in a soup, melon slices with something pink like a meat in the center, crab sausages, a fondue fountain with strawberries and other stuff, a plate with just meat and lettuce.  Mr. Tanaka is shocked, "How did this come out of that pot?" Dude has been suffering what the scent of that pot for days. Puri says it's delicious and that the others should try some. They take a bit and Blue does some silly bit of how it taste good. Mero says Blue has taste.

It's the trio's turn to present their dish. It's the spaghetti with an omeltte on top, three rice balls with the seaweed cut into cute shapes. A heart, a music note, and a bow. A banana and 2 octopus sausages. 

Puri tells Mero to try one as she hands her one the of the Octopus Sausages. Puri says it's delicious as she pulls out two cheering wands. Mero does another this food is great poems like Blue. Blue is impressed by it but Pink and Purple don't get it. 

Mero is making a dreaming look as Puri asks if she likes it. Mero goes, "It's not bad." Our poor little tsundere. Just admit you like it. 

After the food is finished by everyone, Mr. Tanaka asks Puri to pick a winner. Puri says it was all yummy so everyone wins. So it's a tie. 

Mero is sad that her cooking didn't win. She wonders if Puri likes the Idol Precure more after all. At a photoshoot as the cures, all of them are called in but Kiss stays sitting at the table sad. Zukyun comes to get her and says it's time for them to do their job. This makes her so happy.

As the group is walking back in their real forms, Pink asks why they get so mature when they transform. They respond they don't know. Blue and Purple tease Mero a bit. 

We get a shot of Kaito Hibiki watching fans gather around the posters of the cures. I feel like we haven't seen him in a bit. So I wonder what he'll be doing next episode. We get a new ending theme with all five of the cures! Yay~! New ending song!

I knew from the preview last week that this would be an idol show down, but seeing it turn into a cooking battle was cute. I still wanna know what Mero gave away for her wish. and what her wish was. This episode was fun and enjoyable. A great display of the characters themselves. I give it an A rank.

The episode starts with Cure Idol having a cold. Cure Wink and Cure Kyun Kyun try to cheer her up with cake, but she's still sad. After they leave, Cure Idol begins sobbing so loud about White fairy that her mom overhears in the hallway. Truly heart breaking. 

Meanwhile, White fairy is like what did I forget. I want to remember. 

Cure Wink and Kyun Kyun visit the fairies' house to ask Pink fairy what it would take for white fairy to remember and she's like it won't happen without a miracle. After they leave, pink fairy doesn't like her sisssy being sad. So she says she'll help her remember. 

I question this as it's obvious to me that she doesn't want white fairy to remember.

The next day, Cure Idol is still sad at breakfast but her fever has gone down. She pours a bunch of milk on the table while lost in thought. Her dad says that making mistakes is a kid's job. So make as many as a child so you don't make them as an adult. He jokes that so long as she doesn't make the same mistake starting now, she'll be fine. This feels Cure Idol with hope and a great idea. Her sudden pick me up in mood confuses him but the mom gets it. Mom even thanks the dad as the dad is still confused.

Pink fairy has gathered a bunch of the fortune telling gummies for her and white fairy to open. She explains they might pull the miracle fortune gummy and that'll help white fairy regain her memories. As white fairy opens the first one, Cure Idol bangs on the door and barges in. She states they can make new memories starting now. As the two are talking, are lanky bad guy shows up and turns white fairy into the monster of the day.

I like that lanky bad dude doesn't want to go to work. But I'm so upset that he turned the white fairy into the monster of the week. He deserved that hot sauce laced drink earlier in the episode. Monster of the week is based off of the cheering heart light. 

Tanaka, the manager, wakes up from the racket and sees the monster and heads out to get Cure Wink and Cure Kyun Kyun. Tanaka's pjs in human form are very cute. 

Monster can shoot beams that trap things in crystal. Trapping pink fairy and Cure Idol's transformation item. 

Cure Idol, however, will not give up. She is the lead magical girl in this season and the lead is no QUITER! It's been written within the code or bylaws of the Magical Girl genre or something. After all, if they quit, the show won't go on. She begins singing in an attempt to reach white fairy and by the power of love, magic, and friendship, and Deus ex Machina or whatever, it works. 

White Fairy flies out of the monster and hugs Cure Idol. The transformation item and pink fairy are now free from their crystal prisms, however, Monster of the week is still here and now out of control.

The three cures transform. However, instead of weakening with punches, Zukyun and Kiss go straight to the stage performance attack. Monster defeated. Zukyun now has her light back. 

Lanky bad guys is upset but is scared away by Cure Kyun Kyun's laser. 

White fairy says she remembered Cure Idol. Shocking the others.  Cure Idol begins sobbing from joy. 

Pink fairy is standing back going, "A Miracle happened. But it should have been me who recused Sissy." Pink fairy, I'm not liking you right now. You know, loving someone means supporting their choices right? Not trying to be the only one in their world. Also, WHAT DID YOU GIVE UP?! She has her memories. She's still obsessed with white fairy. So what did she have to give up to become a PreCure? The queen said we found find out in due time. Pink fairy told white fairy it was a secret. She's supposed to give up her most precious thing. So what is that? 

As the trio and white fairy are going let's be precure together. The five of us. See they included Pink fairy in the count. Pink fairy is like, "NO! Don't make decisions without me." Which is a fair point. But it was posed as a question. Pink Fairy proclaims her and white fairy and duo and the Trio's rival. And then End Credits.

I like the episode. It got me yelling and crying at the screen. I'd give it an A Rank.
