CaisideXDonald Oneshot

Caiside flipped the page in the book slowly as he watched Donald in his book fort. Several opened books were laid out around him as he scribbled notes in the spiral notebook on his knee. Donald’s pen sporting a cute herding dog on the top. Caiside, however, was bored while his partner studied the day away. He glared at the setting sun outside the window. He had wanted to do so many things today. It was bright and sunny with a light breeze. Prefect for just about any outside activity you could think of.

While bright sun wasn’t the best for a Kelpie like Caiside, he was willing to deal with it. But Donald had vetoed that option. The witch had to study some spell or other for some random test that Bethel would give him.

Caiside didn’t understand why the 26 year old Donald needed to study all the time. Take stupid, pointless tests every 4 months or so. But Donald stated that studying was just a part of being a witch. After all, witches needed to practice their craft to maintain it. While Donald’s Aunt Bethel was recognized as a sorcerous for having a high level of magic and ability to use said magic, it was all granted to her via studying and practice.

Caiside, while understanding, really just wanted snuggles with his partner. But NOOO, studying was needed. Caiside clenched his teeth in annoyance as he noticed Donald squinting. He had, however, been asked to be quiet. And when Caiside didn’t comply, Donald cast a silence spell on himself. The kelpie was shocked when his love had the nerve to use a spell to make himself deaf to just not hear him.

Caiside snapped the book close. The silence spell was still active on Donald’s ears since he didn’t register it. He rolled his eyes, his annoyance simmering. He glanced over again at his partner. Donald’s brown eyes sparkling as he absorbed and took notes on whatever spell it was he was studying. His brown hair trying to fall into his eyes. Caiside felt all his anger seep away. How dare Donald be so cute? It made it too hard for Caiside to stay mad for long.

Caiside pulled out the laps and lanterns from every spare closet he could find in the house. It took several extension cords and several candles, but Caiside made the dim library shine like it was a Christmas day light parade. Caiside plopped down on the uncomfortable library couch with a proud smile. Now it was so bright, Donald could study until midnight and beyond until he was satisfied with whatever it was he needed to know for that test.

Caiside closed his eyes briefly before feeling a poke in his cheek. He opened an eye to look up at Donald, who didn’t look too pleased. He felt a nagging incoming from that expression. He reached up and grabbed Donald by the front of his navy sweater. Pulling him down for a soft kiss. “Hey, how are the books?”

Donald chuckled. He was annoyed at being bent over at such an angle. However, Caiside was worth a little back pain. “I just finished. But where did you get all of these lights so I can put them away?”

Caiside shrugged. “Closets.”

“You don’t happen to remember which closets?”

Caiside smirked, “Nope.”

Donald shook his head, “Well come on, we need to put them back.”

“Only for snuggles.” Caiside demanded as he sat up.

Donald smiled as he pushed some of Caiside’s hair out of his face. “Sure. You can have all the snugs.”

Caiside nodded, enjoying the victory.

It took only 30 minutes to put all the laps, lanterns, and string lights away. Donald commented about how they had so many string lights and wondered where they all came from. Caiside didn’t care. He was getting snuggles and that’s all that mattered.

Witch and Kelpie Ch1

Krissie: I am planning on making a slice of life comic based off of these characters. So, I wanted to share the original book that they came from. I hope you enjoy and share your opinions with me. The story will be published on a schedule.
Chapter 1: A Deal
The air was stiff as he came to the new shore. He couldn’t believe how different the coast of North America was compared to his home of Scotland. The boat’s horn flared as it docked. Caiside cringed at the sound.
“Why must they ring that horn?” he muttered as he looked over the railing. The water was very different too. He sighed as he walked off the boat. This country was his new home, rather he liked it or not.
Caiside had only one tall rolling suit case with him. His curly hair clung to his moist skin as he walked away from the boat. He needed to get away from the coast before he ran home like a child. If he was going to make it in this country, he’d need to find a new home.

Donald glanced up at the chime of the bell of his bookstore. It was pouring outside, so he shouldn’t have any customers today. No one ever came into his store when it was raining. People barely came in when it was sunny. Donald marveled at his guest.
The man was soaking wet but seemed indifferent to it. His curly black hair clung to his body and looked like a wet mop. His yellow stripped sweater clung to his body revealing all the muscles underneath. Donald gulped at the sight. Large greyish green eyes flicked up to him.
“Um… Hello!” Donald greeted as he put down a pile of books. “How can I help you?”
“Is this the library?” He walked up to the counter, rolling a tall suit case behind him. He had a slight accent that Donald could only place as European.
“Hollins Books is a library, but we’re also a book store.” Donald informed as he walked over to look at him. “I guess it’s really pouring outside. Did you lose your umbrella?”
“I did not bring one.” He responded, looking around. “I just arrived in this country today.”
“Ah.” Donald nodded. It all made sense now. He must be wanting to spend the night at the library. “Let me get you a map of hotels in the area.” He got this all the time. He pulled out a pamphlet from the drawer. Man, he wished that just once a hot guy would come in to discuss books with him. “Here ya go. Can I get you anything else?”
He stared at the pamphlet dumbly before looking back up at him. “Actually, I was wondering if I could have a job application.” He gave a meek smile.
Donald tilted his head and arched an eyebrow. “Do you have a work visa?”
“Yes.” He nodded, pulling the damp documents out of his pockets.
Donald nodded as he pulled out the application. “Shouldn’t you be looking for a place to live first?”
“I do not have the funds in your currency.” His voice was so soft, it was almost a whisper. “That’s the trouble with being thrown out.”
Donald was sure he wasn’t supposed to hear that last part, but he did. Something about the idea of the man being thrown out made Donald feel bad for him. “What’s your name?”
“Caiside Lithgow.” He continued filling out the form.
“Donald I. Hollins.” Donald went back to sorting the rest of the books.
“Coincidence or related to owners?” Caiside asked.
“Related. My ancestors built this building years ago.” Donald answered as he stacked the books on the shelves.
“So which relative owns this shop now?” Caiside mused.
“My great Aunt Bethel.” Donald began reorganizing the kids’ section. “She’s rather busy though, so I wind up doing a lot of the work here for her.”
“She has no children?”
“Nah. She’s got plenty of kids. They just,” Donald paused as he skimmed over the store, “Don’t have the same love of books that we do.”
Caiside nodded as he put the pen back in the cup. He put his documents back in his pockets. He picked up the pamphlet and skimmed over it. He didn’t have any money to stay in one of these places. At least not yet. “Do you know were any parks are? Close by?”
Donald froze as he looked at him. “You really have nothing, huh?”
Caiside nodded in shame. He hated feeling shame in front of a mortal. He was a kelpie, a proud scarce race. Yet even among their few numbers, he had been cast out. Forced to leave Scotland, his precious home. It seemed all Caiside could do now was feel shame.
“Why did you come to America without any money?” Donald’s voice rose.
Caiside avoided his gaze. “It was my only choice. Had I’d stayed, even in my own country,” Caiside swallowed back his tears. He couldn’t allow himself to stay in pain. “I came. I’m here. There’s no turning back now.” He made the sternest face he could. “Now about that park?”
“Let me go find a map for you.” Donald rushed to the back of the store. “They’re kept in the back. Just stay there until I get back.”

Donald began rummaging through the maps. Surely they had an up to date one that listed parks and other safe places to sleep on it.
“Donald?”
Donald jumped at the feminine voice. “Aunt Beth. What are you doing here? You said you wouldn’t be back from the conference until tomorrow.”
Bethel smiled at her nephew. “I came home a day early. What are you doing back here?” She arched an eyebrow at him.
“Getting a map.” Donald gave a shy smile, “For a guy up front.”
“Tell me about him.” Bethel crossed her arms. Donald sighed as he relayed what he knew of Caiside Lithgow to his great aunt. “Hmm…” she hummed, “I’d like to meet him.” She sauntered her way to the front of the shop.

Caiside stared as a woman walked up to the front of the store. He had heard her heels clicking on the floor long before he saw her. She was a beautiful elegant woman. She was dressed as if she came from the times of kings and queens. Her perfume was a heavy floral scent.
“Hello!” She smiled as she reached the counter. “I’m Bethel Hollins. You must be Caiside Lithgow, am I right?”
“Yes.” Caiside nodded. There was no way this woman could be Donald’s aunt. She was much too young.
“Well, while my nephew is busy getting that map for you, would you mind turning the sign to close for me? I just got home from a long conference and I want to treat Donald for being a good boy while I was away.
“Okay.” Caiside wasn’t sure why, but something about Bethel made him uncomfortable. He turned the sign and walked back to the counter.
Bethel was quietly reading his job application as she spun every so often in the computer chair. He glanced to the back of the shop were Donald had gone. He wished Donald would return soon. He missed him.
“So…” Bethel held the word in a long vowel, drawing Caiside’s attention to her. “How long have you not been mortal?”
Caiside gulped.
How did she know? Wait! She must be joking, playing a prank on him.
“What are you talking about?” He tried to sound calm.
Bethel sighed. “Miserae hec dea ventuset siccabo venameius coram me.” [Latin – Goddess of wind dry this poor creature before me.]  She waved her hand as she chanted.
A gust of wind surrounded Caiside, drying his hair and clothes before dying down into nothing.
“Aunt Bethel!” Donald exclaimed as he ran between them. “Stop it!  You know you’re not supposed to use your magic like that. Especially on regular people.”
Bethel arched an eyebrow at her nephew. She knew the rules very well. She was a sorceress after all.
“You’re a witch.” Caiside stated as he processed the information.
“Sorceress actually.” Bethel corrected with a crooked grin.
Donald glared at her before laughing. “Ha-ha. Aren’t you funny!” He turned to Caiside. “Aunt Bethel really likes to joke around sometimes.”
“Donald Irwin Hollins.” Bethel’s voice was cold and sharp.
“Yes Aunt Bethel?” Donald smiled as he turned to face her.
“Caiside here isn’t mortal.” She gestured towards the curly haired man. “It’s okay to tell him we’re magic.”
Donald slowly turned to Caiside. “You’re not mortal?”
Caiside shook his head. “No. You’re a sorcerer?”
“No. I’m a witch.” Donald answered. “What are you?”
“You can’t tell?” Bethel gave her nephew a look of pity.
“I didn’t even realize he wasn’t mortal.” Donald shrugged. “Of course I don’t know what he is.”
Bethel smirked. “Then why don’t we play a game? Caiside, I’ll need your corporation for this.”
Caiside arched an eyebrow at her. He wasn’t sure if he wanted to play a game with Bethel. No one in their right mind would agree to a game with a sorceress.
“Donald here is out of shape with his magic. All you have to do is stick around. I’ll supply you with room and board. You can work here too. You’ll be paid of course.” Bethel leaned forward. “Donald, you’re going to figure out what Caiside is. Caiside, you can’t tell him. You can give hints, but only with my permission. Let’s give a time limit of, let’s say, 4 months. That should be plenty of time. Donald, if you are able to succeed, I’ll get you a gift that will suit you well. If you fail, I’ll make you run up and down the coast line again. Twice. Caiside, rather Donald succeeds or not, I shall set you up with a new home here. You can even give your approval, if you like. So what do you say?” She leaned back and grinned. “The only one with anything at stake here is Donald after all.”
“Do I get a say in this?” Donald question.
“Nope.” Bethel popped the P loudly. “Well Caiside Lithgow? What do you say?”
Caiside clenched his fist. “What happens to me if I accidentally tell him what I am?”
“I erase his memory of that day and give you a long lecture you’ll never want again.” Bethel was nonchalant with her statement.
Donald gulped.
“What happens if I decline?”
“Donald has to run along the coast twice and you’re on your own in navigating this new country.” Bethel’s grin made Caiside fidget.
Caiside knew he didn’t have many options here. And no matter how he flipped the coin, this was his best option and he wasn’t going to get any better opportunity then this. Caiside sighed. He wasn’t loosing anything by agreeing to this deal. In fact, he was gaining a lot. “Very well, I agree to your game.”
Bethel smacked her lips. “Goody, goody gumdrops!” She stood up and spun. “Now, let’s go get dinner!” She pranced to the door and locked it before grabbing the two men’s arms and dragging them to the back door. “I don’t suppose you’ve ever had McDonald’s before Caiside. Consider it a new experience!”

Amber Tears Excerpt Genie

The lights sparkled on the tree. She had ventured into the dusty basement to fish it out. She took the time to untangle the lights and place them on the tree with care. She now sat on the old worn couch. It was a deep brown with a pattern she hated on it.

She tapped her fingers on the mug in her hands. How long had it been now? She wondered as she counted the days on her fingers. They were here the week before Halloween.

She wondered where they had gone. Wherever they were, they were paying the bills as she hadn't gotten a late notice. She even called the companies to check. They told her it has already been paid. It only made her wonder where they were. Why didn't they answer her text or phone calls?

She took a sip of the apple cider. She was bored. Thanksgiving had had an odd air about it this year. She had driven to her aunt's house and rode with her to her grandparents. Everyone murmured that it was a shame that her parents had to work that day. Genie had stayed as long as she could. Silently hoping they would stop by.

She wasn't expecting them to turn up all smiley and hair. She wouldn't mind if they buffered the whole way home like they always did. She just wanted to see them.

She slumped out of her seat on the couch and dragged her feet as she entered the kitchen. She opened the fridge and frowned. The plates her grandfather had sent home for them had been left untouched. She crouched in front of the fridge, just starting inside of it. The cold air became too much for her and she soon got up and closed the fridge.

This December was off to a sad start. This month was supposed to be a happy cheery one. They were supposed to put up the tree together, but they couldn't put up the tree together if they weren't there.

stuck zipper

Genie growled at the stuck zipper. She had been tugging and tugging, but it just wouldn't budge. She hissed as she felt a headache forming. She tugged at the zipper once more. She groaned as she began to take off the jacket like a normal shirt. She would fuss with the zipper later.

"Is the zipper still stuck?" Rosabella asked curiously.

"Yep," Genie popped the p loudly.

"Can I try my hand at it?" Rosabella asked sweetly. She felt awful for Genie who had been struggling with the stuck zipper since that morning.

Genie shrugged as she handed it over. "It couldn't hurt. Good luck."

Rosabella smiled as she held the orange jacket. It wasn't a bright orange, but a purposely dingy looking one. She sat in the floor of the theatre. She sat in one of the rows where she would be out of the way. She laid the jacket down flat. She stared at the zipper. It didn't have any hair in its teeth.

Amber Tears Excerpt

"And who is your friend Rosabella?" Bethel mused.

Genie felt as though the woman already knew who she was. But she appreciated that she was trying to get a proper greeting.

"This is my friend Genie Rocklins. Genie this is Bethel. She's a sorceress." Rosabella added.

"I also happen to own a very nice book store," she added as she stood. Genie was surprised that she was taller then the woman. Bethel extended her hand. "It's nice to meet you Genie. I hope your parents don't mind you being out so late."

"Oh they're not home today, so it's fine. It's nice to meet you too." Genie smiled as she took the hand.

"Well you've got a nice firm grip! That's a good thing." Bethel commented. "The real party is in the ballroom through that door. But feel free to explore the rooms that aren't locked. But since you're mortal, try not to leave Rosabella's side. Rosabella help her out with anything she doesn't understand."

"Yes Bethel," Rosabella nodded. She wrapped her arm around Genie's. "Let me introduce you to everyone here."

Genie nodded as she allowed Rosabella to guide her into the ballroom.

the ballroom was huge. There were several tables full of food and drinks. There were several people dancing and just chatting.

Glenda pressed her hand on the doorway. She muttered some words and the edges of the door glowed softly. She stepped back and smiled.

Rosabella opened the door and dragged Genie inside by the arm. "Don't let go of me." She ordered in a soft whisper.

Genie smiled. "As if I would want to." She thought.

the old woman and Glenda stepped in. It was cramp and dark.

Genie heard some tapping on the wall. There was a sudden feeling of an elevator moving. At first they went up and then back down.

Amber Tears Excerpt - Koi

Genie smiled as she walked around Ole Town. Rosabella had come along with her.

"So where are we walking to now?" Rosabella asked curiously.

"You'll see soon enough." Genie stated as she led the way. Ole Town was compacted enough that you could actually walk to it. Most things were a good five minute drive apart that not having a car wasn't really an option.

Genie smiled as she saw the familiar old wooden gate. She walked into the area. The ground was mainly rock here. Water feel into a small pond. There was a wooden bridge that went over the small pond.

"What is this place?" Rosabella perked up with great interest.

"It's a koi pond. Come look!" Genie led her to the edge of the pond. "See, there's one!" She pointed at a grey koi fish that swam by.

"Why are most of them grey?" Rosabella asked after several minutes of watching the fish in silence.

Genie shrugged. She didn't know at all. "Maybe its the water or something," she theorized.

Rosabella nodded. She looked at her watch. It was almost 7. "I have to get home for dinner."

"Me too," Genie sighed. She wondered if her parents would be arguing when she got home again. Hopefully there would be ravioli in the cabinet. She could get it out of the can in her room and ignore them if they were. "I can drive you home." Genie offered.

"Thanks."

The two began walking back to Genie's car. It was an old car, but it worked. She parked it at the cemetery since it wouldn't be in anyone's way there.

Amber Tears Excerpt -Coin Flip

Rosabella flipped a coin. She took a deep breath. She looked at the coin flat on the table.

It was tails.

Rosabella smiled as she lightly kicked her get under the table.

"What are you flipping coins for?" Allisen mused as she sat down in front of her.

"Oh just a bit of decision making," Rosabella cursed herself for blushing. She wished her hair was down so she could hide it.

"Uh-huh," Allisen nodded. Allisen wore a hijab with a Hawaiian flower print on it. It was a beautiful bright blue color that drew attention to it. She wore a thin long sleeve shirt with a purple donkey on it, a pair of blue jeans, and black tennis shoes. Allisen smiled almost smugly, "Well I hope the answer you get is yes."

"What do you mean?" Rosabella leaned Away from the table. She tapped her fingers on the seat.

"I'm not blind," Allisen teased, "You're going to ask to be an item right?"

"No!" Rosabella yelled too loudly. Her face turned a bright red as she bit her lower lip. "I was just going to ask her to the dance."

Allisen sighed. "You're little outings are cute and all. But it's obvious they're dates. Just behind a couple already."

Rosabella looked down as she rubbed her hands together. "I don't know..."

Allisen leaned in close. Rosabella looked up to find her a mere inch from her face. "What is it going to take for one of you to ask?"

Rosabella gulped. Allisen had no clue what she was asking her to do. Rosabella had never dated before. It scared her. Plus what I'd she ruined her friendship. She lucked out with Genie still wanting to be friends after she found out she was a banshee.

"Hi Genie!" Allisen sat up in a split second.

"Hey!" She waved at them. "What's with the serious air around you two?"

Rosabella gave a nervous laugh as she looked away. She didn't want to look Genie in the eye. She was too anxious.

"Oh that..." Allisen drew out the last word. She stood up rapidly. "Let's go to the library."

the two girls followed her into the library. Or was practically empty. She walked into the section of encyclopedias. No one ever really ventured into this section. She made the two girls sit down. She smiled as she placed a hand under their chins and made them face each other. "Now talk." With that she walked away. Leaving the two alone. Though they knew she wasn't far.

"Talk about what?" Genie arched an eye brow. Was it about a banshee thing? Did Allisem find out that Rosabella was a banshee? So many questions piped into her head.

Rosabella licked her lips before taking a deep breath. She fiddled with her fingers as she stumbled over her words. "I was just... Wondering if... If you wanted... Uh..." Rosabella clenched her teeth as she clapped her hands together. She grabbed ahold of Genie's hand. "Do you want to be an item with me?"

Genie tilted her head. Item? What did that mean? Was it some term banshees used?

Rosabella gasped. "I mean like a pair. You and me with promise rings and hand holding. And maybe in a

Genie rubbed her hands together. It wasn't that cold. It had been raining for days though. But still the temperature was a good 70. That was just the weather in Conyers in April. Lots of rain for days.

The February snow had melted away by March and now the rain was here. Since it was April, Genie knew of a few annual events that Rosabella might enjoy. All that was left was to invite her.

Genie removed her headset to listen to the sounds of the house. There wasn't much. It was quiet, but the faint sound of the door to the room in the hall swaying open. Genie was sure she was just imagining the soft laughter of kids playing. She had been hearing it since she was a kid and decided to ignore it a long time ago.

She picked up her phone and found Rosabella's name in her contact list.

"Hey, there's going to be the Cherry Blossom festival were our school chorus and drama clubs perform. It's not much of a thing, but would you like to go?"

Genie sent her text and waited for a response. She rubbed her hands together as she waited. She wanted this to be a date, but knew better of it. Rosabella was a beautiful girl and probably straight. Genie hadn't really dared to ask. Plus there was also the fact that Rosabella was a banshee.

'Do banshees even date?' Genie thought to herself. She read several books of vampires and werewolves dating mortals. She even read mangas were demons and even fairies had romantic relationships with humans. Though those were just stories, she sort of hoped that they were based on some small truths.

Genie jolted up at the sound of her phone's notification tone. She quickly brought her phone to her face to read the message.

"Sure! It sounds like fun. What day and what time?"

Genie could almost hear her voice on her head as she read her response. She double cheated the date and time on the flyer before texting Rosabella back.

Genie beamed with happiness as she slipped her headset back on. She plugged it into her phone and turned the music on shuffle. She flung her feet over the side of the bed as she walked over to her desk. She poured some water from her water bottle into the old glass jar as she picked up her paint brush. She pulled up a canvas with a pencil sketch on it. She put some pain into the small pallet she'd been given as a gift and began applying paint.

genie

GENIE sat on her bed. She was scribbling in her notebook. It was just random swirls. She sighed.

Just what exactly was wrong with her?

She jumped up at the sound of her alarm. She slammed her hand over the clock. She looked at the time and slipped on her converse. She tied the laces lazily before walking out of her room.

The house was eerily quiet today. It made Genie's hair stand on end. She patted her pocket to make sure her phone was there. She patted the headset that rested on her shoulders. She nodded as she closed the door. She walked as quietly as possible and found no one in the living room. It seemed she was still the only one home. She thought it odd that her parents hadn't come home from work yet, but maybe they were stuck in traffic.

She plucked up the remote off of the black crate her mom used as a coffee table. The tv flicked on and she waited for the tv to actually totem on. She cringed at its volume as she quickly turned it down, slightly wishing they still had that old dial tv. She typed in a number for the cartoon channel. She knew the news and crime documentaries would only make her paranoid about every little sound.

In the kitchen, Genie opened the cabinets. She wasn't sure what all they had. She found cans

Amber Tears - Rosabella's break down

Rosabella locked the door. It was the first time in her life that she picked her door. She had never had too before, but this time she didn't want anyone to come in. She didn't want consoling. She just wanted to be alone with her feelings.

The tears hadn't stopped pouring yet. Most of them were just water, but there were a few balls of amber on the floor. She could feel the snot traveling out of her nose. When she opened her mouth to attempt to put more air in her lungs, she could taste it.

Rosabella rested her head on her bed. For the first time, she allowed herself to scream. The wail that came out shook the lamps. She could barely see from her watery eyes as she pressed the button on the side of the bed. She didn't even wait for the step to come out completely. The moment it was out an inch she stepped on it and hopped onto the bed.

She let out several pained wails. She felt awful. She knew this feeling but didn't know it all the same. She didn't quite understand what it was about the situation that was making her feel like this. She knew this want the end of the world. But Rosabella's emotional side didn't want to listen to her logical side.

Rosabella just wanted to cry and scream. And that's what she did. She laid in a fetal position between her parents pillows. Her body shook as she cried. The lamps and mirrors shook due to her wails.

ROSABELLA's throat was sore. She wondered how long she had cried before passing out. She looked up to find that her bed was full of ambers. She sighed as she brushed the balls away. She looked up and frown. She couldn't see anything in the room. She reach out and tapped the lamp by the bed. The light bulb inside it was still intact.

Rosabella smiled at that. The light bulb was made to withstand the screams of banshees and serines. She was glad her grandmother had gotten access to them for a tree run.

She soon frowned as she looked around the room. All the posters that were hung by nails on the wall were now on the ground. Except one that was now upside down, hanging onto the wall by one nail. All the mirrors were broken too.

She sighed as she carefully took a step off of her bed. She was still wearing her shoes, so she didn't have to worry too much about the debris.

Rosabella was careful as she walked down stairs to grab the broom and dust pan. She was greeted with Darla standing in front of the room all the cleaning supplies were kept in.

Darla stood there with a look of sympathy in her eyes. Rosabella looked away nervously. She felt awkward about the whole thing. Darla simply remained quiet as she grabbed the supplies.

Darla placed her hand on Rosabella's shoulder as they walked upstairs. Together, they cleaned the room in silence.

Amber Tears Excerpt - Meet Allisen

“I’m Rosabella,” She held out her hand, “What’s your name?”
The girl smiled, “Allisen.” Her voice was soft. It was very hard to hear her over the noise of the classroom. Rosabella leaned in to hear her.
“How do you spell that?” Rosabella asked.
“A-L-L-I-S-E-N,” she spelled the name quickly.
“I haven’t seen it spelled that way before. People must misspell your name all the time,” Rosabella mused.
Allisen nodded.
“So let’s play the get to know each other game,” Edcardo announced. “First topic, name a music artist your obsessed with right now. I’ll go first. Blood on the Dance Floor. Genie,” he waved his hand at Genie.
Genie smiled with embarrassment. “Abba.” She gestured to Rosabella.
“Vocaloid,” Rosabella fiddled with a strand of her hair.
“Really?’ Allisen perked up. “Me too. Which one is your favorite?”
“I would have to say Gumi,” Rosabella smiled, “Sorry for being a closet otaku is just so catchy.”

“I know! Personally my favorites are Rin and Len.” Allisen seemed so lively as they spoke about the virtual singers. Rosabella enjoy the conversation. The bell rang too quickly for the group.

Amber Tears excerpt

Genie could only hold her ears. That sound was giving her the worst headache. She couldn't exactly identify it. All she could tell was that it sounded like several birds and a woman screaming. She glared at the group of kids running away.

They were the ones who brought her. The ones all excited about a spreading rumor about some unknown creature in these woods.

Most of Conyers was woods. Or at least the part Genie lived in. But many of these kids lived in the newly developed areas. They didn't know the woods all that well, so Genie was sure they were making things up. But this, this was not what Genie was expecting to find. She gritted her teeth as she tried to make out Rosabella's footsteps in the leaves on the ground.

The young Brit wasn't used to Georgia yet. Just because the weather was warm now, didn't mean it would last. It was going to drop to shivers tonight. And it would only be worse.

Midnight Cuddles

KRISSIE: I felt like writing a romance scene today and this is what happened. I regret nothing.
[][]][
Caiside wasn't sure why he woke up alone, but he did. He also knew that this wasn't his bedroom. He combed his wavy black hair out of his face. He found a pair of all too familiar glasses on the table.
"Donald," he gasped. "Where'd he go?"
The big bright red lights of the clock told him that it was only 3:37 am. Am. What was Donald doing not sleeping this early in the morning?
Caiside crawled out of the bed and gulped at the lack of clothes covering him. "What did I do last night?" He mumbled. His memory was still blurry and he didn't feel like making them clear right now. He threw on a robe he found in the closet. He had to figure out where Donald went.
He took the lightest steps he could manage as he entered the hallway. Donald wasn't anywhere in the bedroom. He stopped as he saw a light on in the study.
'If Bethel sees me like this, she's going to kill me.' He thought to himself.
He turned to walk the other way.
"You're awake?" The voice caused Donald to jump. He turned to find Donald standing in the hallway. "Are you feeling okay? You drank a lot last night."
"I... I'm fine." Caiside replied. "Why was I in your room?"
Donald chuckled, "You were drunk and wanted to cuddle."
"Naked?" Caiside questioned.
"I'm not going to lie, I enjoyed that aspect of our the most." Donald stated. "Do you want some tea?" He offered him the cup.
Caiside took the cup and sipped it. "Let's get back to bed." He mumbled as he walked down the hall.
Donald smiled as he walked with Caiside back to his room. The moment he closed the door, Caiside had a question.
"Did we have sex?" Caiside asked. It wouldn't be any fun to not remember his first time with Donald.
"No just cuddles and kisses." Donald assured him.
"Can we..."
"You stick to cuddles and kisses for now." Donald lead him to the bed.
"Okay," Caiside pretended to pouted as he cuddled up next to Donald. His fingers soon found their way between the gaps left in his shirt.
Donald chuckled, "That tickles you know."
Caiside just gave him an impish grin before pecking a kiss on his nose. Donald kissed him on the head as hugged him closer to his body. The two soon drifted off to sleep.

Witch and Kelpie

I published Witch and Kelpie today! It's the first book for that LGBT series I began working on a few years back. So there should be a few rough scenes written and shared on this blog. So go check it out on Smashwords if you're interested!
I am currently working on school work, so it will take a while for the sequel to be written.

CasideXDonald Excerpt

Caiside wrapped his arms around Donald. Donald let out a squeak of surprise. “You seem stressed.” Caiside whispered softly into Donald’s shoulder.
“I’m fine.” Donald replied. He wasn’t sure why, but Caiside had a personal space problem. What he couldn’t figure out was why it occurred when no one else was around! It seemed the moment no one was around, Caiside would just gravitate to Donald’s personal space and just invade it.
Caiside squinted his eyes at Donald. He knew a lie when he heard it. Donald was stressed about something. He nestled into the crook of his shoulder. Donald lifted his shoulders some, but Caiside still stayed in the crook of his shoulder. “You’re stressed.”
Donald flung his head back and sighed in defeat. “I’ll be fine. It’s not like stress kills people.”
Caiside shook his head. Sure stress couldn’t kill a normal person, but it still wasn’t a good thing to have. Caiside began pulling Donald along with him.
“Where are you taking me?” Donald muttered as he allowed Caiside to drag him down the hallway.
“Just come on.” Caiside stated.
Donald sighed.
Caiside pushed Donald into his favorite recliner. Caiside pulled the lever and Donald gasped as the back fell back and his legs were lifted.
“Are you alright?” Caiside turned around from the book case.
“How’d you get all the way over there so fast?” Donald mumbled.
Caiside took his response as fine and continued skimming the spines of the books. He plucked one off and waltzed back over to Donald. He put the book in Donald’s hands and stood expectantly.
“What?” Donald arched an eyebrow.
Caiside tapped the cover of the book patiently.
Donald looked at the book. It was the book of mythical creatures he had been reading. He had been trying to pin down what kind of creature Caiside was. Donald sighed. He must be getting impatient. Donald cracked the book opened and began reading. He was hoping that the creature Caiside was would just pop out at him.
Donald flinched as he felt hands on his shoulders. He turned around to glare up at Caiside. “What are you doing?” he hissed.
“Rubbing your shoulders.” Caiside answered with a bored expression. “You’re stressed out.”

“So why do you have to rub my shoulders?” Donald shouted turning red.

Donald X Caiside Excerpt - Staring

Donald had short hair that was combed back. A strand was going against the grain by poking in front of his face. His brown eyes scanned the book he was reading carefully in the recliner. Caiside sat in the chair across from him. He had only sat there because he had nothing better to do. So he chose to stare at Donald. He had to admit that Donald was rather handsome.
Donald flipped a page of his book. He was snuggled into his favorite chair. He was reading a book of potions and spells. He could feel eyes on him, but he didn’t want to stop reading his book.
He flipped to another page and read.
He still felt the eyes burning into him.
He flipped another page.
His skin was beginning to crawl.
He flipped to another page.
Donald bit his cheek as he attempted to suppress the urge to scream.
He flipped another page.
He couldn’t handle it anymore.
He flipped down a corner of the book and snapped it closed.
He sat the book in his lap as he looked up at Caiside. “Is there any reason why you’re staring?”
Caiside shrugged as he continue to stare.
Donald rubbed the bridge of his nose. “Is staring a common thing where you’re from?”
Caiside thought about it for a moment. “No,” he finally answered after a moment.
“Then why are you staring at me?”
Caiside tilted his head back and stared at the ceiling. Why was he staring? Staring was just something he did. His kind did it all the time. He could stare into the souls of people. He could tell so many secrets just by one look. But there was something interesting about Donald. He just couldn’t put his finger on it. Plus there was that deal he made with Bethel. “You interest me,” he replied staring back at him.
Donald tilted his head. He interested him? Strange. He was just a simple witch. Why would a simple witch interest him? Someone who wasn’t even mortal. Come to think of it, he still didn’t know what Caiside was. He squinted his eyes as he stared at Caiside.
“Trying to figure out what I am?” Caiside smirked.
Donald nodded. “I’ve yet to make any guesses.”
“Well, stare all you want.” Caiside shrugged. “After all, they say the eyes are the windows to the soul. I’m curious what you can see.”

Donald glared. He was sure that was a crack at his lack of ability. Sure he wasn’t as good as his Aunt Bethel with magic. But he could still use it. He just needed a lot of practice. The two entered a staring contest.

Excerpt Genie x Rosabella

Title To Be Determined
By Krissie Gault
Genie X Rosabella

Chapter 1:
Genie stared out the window. How long did Mr. Tredgins except the class to listen to his lecture? His voice had all but become a low drum in her ears. It merged with the rustle of autumn leaves and trains that passed by every hour like clockwork. It was the most soothing lullaby and it bored the hell out of her.
When is something interesting actually going to happen?
A loud knock sounded in response. The class began to murmur as Mr. Tredgins wobbled over towards the door. Genie glanced up at the door. She knew by the silhouette that it was the vice-principle, Mrs. Pole. Genie rolled her eyes as she turned back to the window. Someone was probably in trouble again. Maybe Officer Wolfe found Tracy’s stash of weed in his locker during another one of the school’s notorious locker checks?
Genie wondered how many kids had to by new locks for their lockers. She hoped she wasn’t among them. She couldn’t afford to buy another to buy another lock for that tiny metal box. But her locker was on the same hall as Tracy’s. She was doomed.
“Genie Teresa Rocklins!” Mr. Tredgins’ yell broke Genie’s thoughts.
Genie stared dumbly at him. His face was purple and seemed to be drenched in sweat. Everyone in the class was snickering at her. “What is it, Mr. Tredgins?” Genie faked the best innocence she could.
Mr. Tredgins glared, not buying it. “Move your feet out of that seat so the new kid can have a place to sit.”
Genie blinked as she slowly moved her feet out of the seat. She stared at the girl who took the seat. She was short with long hair that came to her knees. It wasn’t wavy, yet it wasn’t straight either. She seemed like some fragile flower.
“Who are you?” Genie blurted with her usual bluntness.
The new girl moved her hair out of her face as she looked at Genie. Genie felt her heart skip a beat. The new girl had a soft face with large dark eyes that reminded Genie of a cute baby seal. Her small, plump pink lips parted.
“She is your new classmate.” Mr. Tredgins growled with annoyance. “You would know that if you weren’t day dreaming Genie.” The class giggled. Mr. Tredgins began writing can the board as the class settled down.
Genie glared down as she felt paper poking her in the arm.
“Rosabella McDonald.”
It was written in an elegant hand writing. It almost seemed like calligraphy. Genie looked up to find the new girl staring at her from the corner of her eye. Rosabella it seemed so fitting for her. Elegant yet innocent.
Rosabella’s dark eyes darted from Genie’s face to the paper and back again.
Genie nodded as she scribbled a response on the paper. She felt bad that her handwriting wasn’t as neat or pretty as Rosabella’s.
“Hi. I’m Genie Rocklins. Welcome To Conyers. Where are you from?”
Genie slid the paper over to Rosabella. Rosabella read it and scribbled a response before sliding it back over to Genie.

“Thanks. I’m from the UK. This is my first time in an American school.”
